Following potential 2013 draftees

Allen Crabbe seems like an interesting guy to look at, a deadeye shooter something which the Jazz could use. One question, how would you all feel about drafting Shane Larkin at #14?

Larkin at #14 would be an absolutely terrible pick.

These are the other players that the Jazz are mentioned in their comments:
14. Shabazz Muhammad UCLA, Fr. 6-6, 222 lbs. SF.
17.8 PPG, 5.3 RPG, 38 3PT%
Muhammad did not have a bad combine, as some have suggested. He showed up and competed, which is something very few of the other top prospects bothered to do. His jump shot wasn't falling, and teams were mixed on his interviews. Part of the issue is just finding the right team. The Pistons are a good fit, and the same is true for the Wolves and Mavs. I doubt he'd slide past the Jazz at 14.

23. Allen Crabbe Cal, Jr. 6-6, 197 lbs. SG.
18.7 PPG, 6.0 RPG, 2.6 APG
Crabbe's terrific shooting at the combine, along with good measurements and above-average athletic testing put him in a competitive position to move up draft boards. With several teams, including the Thunder, Jazz and Bucks, looking for shooters, he could slide up into the teens.

25. Gorgui Dieng Louisville, Jr. 6-11, 230. C.
9.8 PPG, 9.4 RPG, 2.5 BPG
An ankle injury kept Dieng out of the draft combine. His stock has been cooling of late as the excitement from Louisville's NCAA title wears off and teams begin to wonder whether Dieng can contribute enough on the offensive end to justify a high selection. There's expected to be a serious run on bigs in the teens, with a number of teams -- including the Thunder, Mavs, Jazz, Celtics, Hawks and Bulls -- looking for centers.

If nobody is willing to give them much in a trade for the pick (worst darft evar alll guys are sucks!) why wouldnt it be possible they just stash a guy in Europe? Accomplishes the same thing salary cap wise.

Since when was clearing yourself of ~$11 in obligated salaries the same as clearing yourself of ~$1.5 million?

In case it required any clarification, there's been rumor that the Mavericks would essentially sell the pick for cap space (likely by dumping Marion to a team under the cap [which might have to take place after June 30th?]).

FYI- Nate Robinson 6.2 apg /2.5 topg per 36

Larkin 4.6 apg /2.3 topg per 36

They are very similar players.

nate robinson turns 29 tomorrow...

nate took 14 or more FGA's in 10games as a senior, Larkin 6, but his come more in the flow of an offense. Nate Robinson takes terrible, heat check shots. and therefore in my eyes has more bust potential than Larkin... Nate turns 29 tomorrow and had a salary of $1,146,337 last season, hes also been on 5 teams, and will get lowballed for his services this summer due to his character concerns/age/size

i think if we take larkin at 21, his career is much better, and he earns much more $$$

im not saying hes Ty Lawson, but i prefer that comparison over Nate

Not at #14 but I would probably be ok with him at #21.

Never in the history of forevers. Have I ever wanted an NBA season to end so badly. This waiting game is frustrating. I don't care about the playoffs anymore. Give the Heat the title already and lets get this draft and new season started!!!

Fixed, and I agree.

It doesn't matter who you draft. The Jazz will never win a title, because the fans don't support their own team, and they don't support changes in the league that would give them a chance. You people should be rooting for Indiana. They are trailblazing a path , a blueprint, for change, for success for teams like the Jazz, and you aren't supporting them either.

The Spurs are from Texas, they've already got a bunch of titles, and they've got Duncun, a clear #1 draft pick some teams might have tanked for.
The Jazz are not the Spurs, but the Jazz could be the Pacers.
All the Pacers key players were drafted 10 or later.

Margo's pathetic attempt at a draft board:

1. McLemore – a more athletic Klay Thompson with a downgraded, albeit still pure, jumpshot
2. Oladipo – Tony Allen/Dwayne Wade hybrid
3. Len – a skinnier/taller Enes minus the mean streak
4. Noel – a skinnier rookie Tyson Chandler, but with a bigger motor
5. Muhammad – probably what you get when you mate a CJ Miles with a James Harden
6. Schroeder – he has his weaknesses, but his strengths remind me of the top PGs in the game – from what I’ve seen of him, I see some CP3, Parker, and Rondo – remember, those are his strenghts.
7. Porter – I think he’s really overrated (as a top 3 pick), but at #7 he’d be a good fit.
8. Bennett – to be honest, I haven’t seen a lot of him, but he seems to be pretty high, so #8 seems about right.
9. Burke – I like a lot about him, but probably my favorite thing is he has the patented CP3 move where he gets by his defender and then uses his butt to keep the defender behind him while he surveys the scene.
10. MCollum – Ben Gordon 2.0
11. Zeller – on a good team, he’ll look really good; on a bad team, not so much. I’m sure that can be said for a lot of players, but I especially think it’s appropriate for Zeller
12. Olynyk – a bigger Scola. BTW, if we draft him, I’d like to trademark the nickname Relief Society Legs, so – you heard it here first.
13. MCW – a poor man’s, two-kneed Shaun Livingston
14. Karasev – one of those Euros who looks like he grew up playing in Brooklyn. Reminds me of Manu
15. To be honest I’ve exhausted about most of my mental capacities coming up with that list so I’d be leading you astray if I went any further. However, here’s a list of guys I’d be happy with at #21:
Saric
Adetokousldfkjs dfl;a
Miniature Red’s shortstop
Ledo

Noel wishes that he was 228. He weighed in at 205 at the combine.

Apparently the doctor told him that losing weight is good for the ACL recover... that's why he was so light at the Combine.

.. well that's what Calipari told Ford anyway, may be PKM can verify this.

And the Pacers' fans have been with them through thick and thin:

Also, in 2012 they had the league's 5th best record and were ranked 29th in attendance.
