Following potential 2015 draftees

for arguments sake the players in this class id take over Turner are;

Mudiay, Okafor, Towns, Stanley Johnson, Oubre, Alexander, Vaughn, Jackson, Looney, Lyles, Winslow and Isaiah Whitehead

I also agree with whomever recently said they think Oubre is a bit overrated. I think he's been hyped beyond his current trendline.

Wow.. u hate Rick Barnes as much as I do. ;)

Honestly i just dont think that hes a top 5 guy in this class, maybe its just a hunch, ive seen the highlights of him blocking Okafor and Cliff Alexander, its all very impressive, as is his jumpshot.

my issue is the way he moves, maybe its a formation of someone pointing it out to me, then watching a bad batch of footage right away and getting confirmation bias. but theirs just something mechanical about the way he moves that i dont like, it kind of reminds me of something youd see from a weaker euro bigman prospect.

now he jumps very well, and he moves his hands and arms quickly in a defensive stance and going for blocks, looks to have great hand eye coordination, and he can turn quickly, but other than in those type of situations i think moves like a big whos feet are too big for his body, and might not have the best hips.

alot of times you will see him take one or 2 tiny steps to start running, or he does this thing where it almost looks more like he starts his running by skipping. perhaps im being too critical, i dont think its a "red flag" just something im going to be watching closely next year.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_UFCTdo8I8 - at about 2:20 is a prime example of what im talking about with his feet/ starting his movement

in the few minutes he played in the hoops summit, what im talking about was on full display and he ended up hurting himself

i forgot what exactly he did, but i was in a thread on another site chatting with AAU junkies that genuinely know way more than me during the Hoops summit, after he did something akward there was a few posts about it, one was "Turner moves like hes got rigamortis" he got injured not too far after that play and i remember there was a good bit of posters chiming in and piling on about it.

like i said i dont think its a redflag, and i dont think hes a bad player or project at all. Im all for letting the kids in the draft after highschool, but this is one of the few times where im happy ive got at least a year to watch something, id also say Turner compares pretty well to bigs in the 2014 class, but put him up against Thon Maker, Stone, Giles, Zimmerman and i think the contrast in fluidity is very apparent.

i really like Oubre but im not sure how hes going to justify being top 5. especially with Mikhailiuk showing up, i could see him platooning for minutes with Brannen Greene.

the AAU team he came from, Houston Hoops, is really interesting; Oubre, Justin Jackson and Justise Winslow.. it might seem crazy but i actually think DeAaron Fox ends up the best player from that squad. Jarred Vanderbilt a new addition this year looks like hands down, the best '99 born player ive seen thus far, im not a big follower of AAU ball but im interested to see this team moving forward

Kansas is gonna have a loaded wing. Like Kentucky's front court...

Selden Mikhailyuk Oubre

How does Cliff Alexander compare to Noah Vonleh? I see his 2nd at DX mock. They are almost exactly the same height, weight, wingspan. Cliff is only 3 months younger than Noah.

TOTALLY different players.

I really like Alexander, A LOT, as a college player to-be.. but not sure how he'll do in the pros.

He'll have to play Center or play next to a very skilled Center and show he can handle perimeter oriented PFs defensively.

a better comparison for Vonleh in this class is Trey Lyles, more of a stretch 4. Noah's the better rebounder , and more athletic but Trey has polished moves and a really smooth mid-range game. (Trey also stands 250lbs 6'10, 7'3½" wingspan)

Cliff Alexander is almost like an old school player, hes very 'blue collar' and plays like hes the biggest player on the court no matter if thats the case, im sure he plays Center next to Perry Ellis next year...

I want Rondae Hollis-Jefferson from this draft, he should fit the jazz no matter the picks/signings.. of the prospects mocked in the lottery right now i could see him really being one of the bigtime winners at next years combine... Reported 44" vertical

the other player that i really like is Marc Garcia from Spain, holy hell can that kid shoot, hes got one of those shots where the ball almost looks suspended in time its so perfect, he can operate almost on an island from the corners, either spotting up or driving the baseline, which NBA teams have got to love.

Whitehead has alot of the appeal of Dion Waiters on offense, his 1v1 game is better than almost all of the players listed in 2015 mocks, and hes really nasty on D, steals, blocks, everything. The next in line of Lincoln HS in Coney Island NBA Players (Marbury, Telfair, Stephenson).

I think he and Billy Garrett Jr. make noise at Seton Hall, and i wouldent be surprised to see them in the tournament or with Whitehead somehow ending up in the draft

Any reason Myles Turner fell from top 3 to 15 in the mock draft? Seems like a bright kid and looks to have grown an inch over the last year so might end up near 7'

The more tape I see of this Chinese dude Wang Zhelin, I like. Good footwork in the post, uses both hands liberally. No way this dude is the #55 prospect in next year's draft like DraftExpress currently has him.

Ive seen footage of Wang Zhelin over the last 2 years, this guy is good, has a solid build and puts up MONSTER #'s. there was a 7'2 player, Li Muhao who was supposed to be on par with him, Zhelin moved sooo much better though from what I remember.

Very interesting player, hes Fuijanese too. the problem is (and why hes #55) is most likely hes 3 years older than listed.
