Following potential 2017 draftees...

That was a poor showing from Josh Jackson in OT. Monte Morris pretty much secures a top-45 spot witht hat performance.

Frank Mason is going on my next mock too. Someones gonna take him.

Wes Iwundu and the underrated 6'10" SF Dean Wade are lighting #2 Baylor up something serious. Both look like interesting pro prospects.

S/o to Tyus Battle for doing heavy lifting in that bigtime resume building win vs UVA today. 23 points on 11 FGA's.

Arizona's getting throttled 36-11 in the first 15 minutes of the first half at Oregon!! Great day of college ball and y'all are in this thread talking about ME, how flattering.

On your meds today?

Dennis Smith is too nasty, he could've changed the way March Madness plays out if he went to a more legit school.. He really rates very highly thru the classes for PG's in that 6-foot range, he's up there with Jay Williams.

31 and 9 Miami won tho. Yertsuven had 5 blocks.

Seeing plenty of volatility today with these prospects.. Great day of college ball already.

Caleb Swanigan seems to me like a player the Jazz would take a flier on in the 2nd. He still reminds me of Ike Diogu but he's way more consistent at this point and his 3pt shot might be his saving grace.

PJ Dozier and Yante Maten both with strong showings and look like top-40 types, I'd take Maten over Swanigan(Cameron Oliver over both).

Tyler Dorsey's leading this annihilation of Arizona. Playing like a top 40 pick he's 6/6 from 3 and they're shooting like 75% as a team..

Boucher is looking like he could get drafted even in his advanced age (and rail thin build)

OK St. Jr. Jeffery Carroll is playing his way onto the radar. 6'6" do-it-all SF. 56% fg's 46% from 3 on 3.3 attempts per, 7.6 rebs 1.4ast .8 stl -- he's got defensive potential. Turns 23 at the start of next season. He's got 15 in the first half vs #7 WVU.

OK St also has a 7-foot freshman from the Netherlands, Lucas N'Guessan. Who's definitely worth keeping an eye on he can run and looks pretty fluid.

Regarding long, skinny perimeter players like Exum, at a glance there seems a higher than average likelihood for players of this body type to have knee injuries. Examples: Penny Hardaway, Shaun Livingston, Kerry Kittles, Dante and now Zach Lavine. It would seem related to torque on the knee when they make sharp cuts or off-balance landings. It's enough to make me nervous about drafting a player with this body type. This might apply to Dejounte Murray and Delon Wright as well.

I'm trying to think of similar players who have stayed healthy. The profile is 6'6"+ and under 190 lbs.

Jabari Parker?

Blake Griffin?

Derrick Rose?

Let's see some actual data.

That's not the body type. It's the long, skinny guard under 190 lbs. It's a question of whether they can take the pounding. Obviously this is just annecdotal, but I'm trying to find similar players that *didn't* have knee trouble.

Yes, that's why I listed a bunch of players who dont fit that body type who get ACL injuries.

Reggie Miller

All I know is that Lonzo Ball will be the best player in this draft class.

Nearly positive there are no real correlations here. There are big men and perimeter players of all sizes and play styles on here.

I'm saying that of the players who have that physical profile, there appears to be a higher than average likelihood that they will have a serious knee injury. The evidence is annecdotal, but it looks as though as many as half or more of the NBA players with that body type experience a serious injury. I'm not looking at other players or body types.

So if you were going to draft a player of that body type, you might be increasing the likelihood that your player will experience a season-ending knee injury.

This is different from saying, "Of the players who tore their acl, what percentage were long, skinny perimeter players." It's asking, "Of the long skinny perimeter players, what percentage of them tore their acl or had a similar knee injury?"

That's completely false.
