What's new

For all the fire Ty people:

I honestly don't think Jerry would be very happy if Ty was fired. And I certainly don't think he's coaching the Jazz again.

IF the Jazz opt for another coach, they wouldn't fire Corbin they would just wait out the season and not renew his contract.

I think you're dead-on with this one.

His players aren't that great and he's paid for this season anyways. Might as well let him play it out.

Lionel Hollis has proved he's got what it takes IMO.

I don't think Hollins is a good fit for the current state of the franchise. Lindsay is an analytics guy, and that was the whole reason that Hollins was let go in Mem, because he disagrees with the analytics club.

You are making a lot of assumptions here. Lindsey has had one draft. That's it. What happens if you take the job now, Burke sucks, Hayward leaves, and you get the 6th pick then Miller brings in some more crappy vets, and you draft a bust at #6? Then you've sullied your coaching resume and you look like Ty Corbin.

No good coach will touch this job until the Jazz have a clearer future.

I will wait until the Jazz have a full roster before I start predicting doomsday. I thought this team would win between 28 and 34 games at the beginning of the year, yes I was wrong but I still think they will win at least 18 - 24 games once everyone is healthy.

both of these.

And...some of this.

Who do you bring in?

Lionel Hollins
Nate Mcmillan
George Karl
Doug Collins
Lawrence Frank
Vinny Del Negro

What coach is going to come in a coach this team? Or better yet, what GOOD coach is going to take that on? You do realize, that there is a good chance that if you take over this team, you won't win any more games than Ty? It might not be as ugly, but a loss is a loss. If you are Karl, or SVG, or Lionel, why do you take on this mess now? No matter what you do, you will probably lose, and when you do, morons on message boards and sitting in the stands will boo you, and there will be a chance that you are fired at the end of the season.

Why not enjoy your time off, and then take over this team in June, when you have the #1 pick, a boatload of cash for FA's and players that you can get to rally around you, because you didn't lose 50 games with them the previous season?

ANSWER: Can you go down? NOPE. Your team is going to have a top draft pick in 6 months. You have a very young talented squad... the best GM in the league... and a hungry franchise. What's not to like?

It pisses me off that a beer costs like $9, other than that I'm cool.

I think we shoiuld fire ty because Hayward and Burks can't hit wide open shots.

I think we should fire him because he just isn't a good coach and we have thread upon thread citing specific reasons that show him to be a poor head coach. So, why do you keep defending him with stupid comments like this?

Good god to hell just let Ty finish the damn season. Don't you idiots want to lose?

I don't mind losing--I expected it this year. What I don't want is to be embarrassed in the process nor go down as one of the worst teams in history. I want entertaining games where we are in games and compete, even if we lose. I think that's what the Jazz FO want too. As of now, we are not competitive, we are not entertaining, and we are on track to be one of the worst teams in history. Somebody HAS to be held accountable for it.

There is just no way in hell that the Jazz cannot fire Corbin if we end up 1-20, or something like that. He will be fired at some point this season. It's inevitable. And my guess is that it will happen sooner rather than later.

Anyone. I don't care about this season, but firing Ty would assure me he's gone next season. I know most claim he will be anyway and I hope they are right, but if he got canned it would be a sure thing.

Agreed. I suspect they give him 20 games or so with Burke at least. He has some defense to hide behind with having had the worst PGs in league history.

Jazz don't fire coaches. Corbin finishes the year. Don't buy all the ESPN hype. Corbin is as safe as Pop. He may not be back next year but he won't be fired this one.

The Jazz have had more winning seasons in the last 30 years than any other team in the NBA.

When you're looking at a 1-11 start, historical references go out the window.
