If Chris Quinn, can play in the NBA, you dont think he can?
If Juan Jose Barea can play and get minutes for a winning team in the NBA, then so can Jimmer.

Jimmer has freakish range on his shot, that is for sure. The problem is most teams need you to do more than that.

Barea is freakishly quick, that his bankable skill. Jimmer does not have a bankable skill. Ineffecient volume scoring is not a bankable skill, we know that from Sir Chucker J Smiles.
Why would we draft player from BYU?
It's amazing how many people base (all) their opinions on race and religion. I have a feeling that had Jimmer been born with a darker skin pigment and played at a public school many of his critics would would be his biggest fans right now.
If the dude is the BPA when we draft, take him.
scoring numbers from some reputable scorers in final college season
Jimmer 45.5%-FG 40.4%-3Pt 1.43 Points per shot
Deron 43.3%-FG 36.4%-3pt 1.19 Points per shot
carmello 45.3%-FG 33.7%-3pt 1.27 Points per shot
Wade 49.9%-FG 33.3%-3pt 1.40 Points per shot.
he's far from inefficient
hell, the dude is in the top ten in PER (#7 (30.53))
there are plenty of knocks on him but efficiency isnt really one of em.
Jimmer is also a senior, if you compare his last three years to any of the above they will pale in comparison. He is a decent pick but if the second pick is as high as #12 think Burks or Leonard would be better choices.

Burks shoots 29% from 3. Do we really want him?
Burks or Leonard wouldn't be bad picks either, but so what if Jimmer is a senior?
That makes no difference, if they are going into the same draft it doesn't matter... it's all about what can you do now.
I guess you may be inferring that the non seniors would automatically improve their shooting percentages and that there is no chance they would decrease? There are many players that their percentages drop in later years, and their stock drops as well.
Jacob Pullen just this year was a pre-season all-american and he fell off the map because of his lack of production and drop in shooting percentages, and he is a senior.
I see what you are saying, but I don't agree.
Yeah I am rescinding my "inefficient volume scorer" comment I made earlier on him. Anyone with his shooting touch is going to have some role in the NBA and will never be a total bust. I guess the question comes down to does KOC feel confident with Devin Harris at PG. If not, Fredette might be the best choice.
I think the best case scenario for Jimmer is like a Nick Van Exel when he played for Dallas. A 6th man type role who can score and create offense off the bench. He would be fun to watch that is for sure. If the Jazz pick him up with their own pick (if we dont make the playoffs) between about 12-16 I would not be against it.
Makes sense...unless you're Archie who thinks Jimmer will be the next Ray Allen.
