Free Agent Rumors Thread

There is no way that Wiggins is worth Hayward, Kanter and Exum. Exum is not that far behind Wiggins in talent. The difference is small. It doesn't matter but why would Cavs offer Hayward a huge contract if they have Waiters and Wiggins already on the roster. I guess they will try to move Waiters but it sounds pretty fishy this rumor.

Cuz waiters sucks and likes to fight with kyrie.

You kind of have to have big men who can shoot so you can invert your offense if you want to post-up your PG consistently. I remember we could do it with D-Will because we had Okur. The Pistons use to do it with Wallace/Billups inverted.

I would so trade kanter, Hayward and one of the picks in 2017 or even next years for wiggins.

Burke, exum
burks, exum
wiggins, hood
favors, Tristan thompson
tomic, Gobert

the only way Cleveland does that if they can sign bron.

Irving
Hayward, waiters
lebron, clark
kanter, Bennett
verajao, zeller

Anyone who thinks Burks > Ariza is blind. He is a better 1-on-1 player, but that is it.
Then splash acid in my eyes because if that's the case I don't want too see. Isn't Ariza like 7-8 years older, Ariza wasn't half the player Then that Burks is now Burks already does more then Ariza did when he was Burks age. I say this with little conviction, but Ariza might have been better last year, but Burks will overtake him. Burks is a better ball handler, playmaker, passer, slasher, and gets to the line a lot more. Ariza is a better defender, and shooter, and more of a role player.

U are more concerned with Arizas play then with building a jazz contender?

no, I want to coast toward contention
your wierd...

Faster combine times than Paul or Lillard. I'd say he has ELITE speed as a PG. Same or better speed than players several inches shorter and the size to post them up. Or the ability to blow by a SG if you switch up on defense. He has ELITE potential.
Cy wants exum to be a 2 so the jazz will be more likely to get rid of burks.

Rather have Exum be a 1 if he is legit. Hayward the 2, Ariza (or future with 3 and D capabilities) the 3.

Sorry, Burks just doesn't really fit into my vision of the team. He is a good bench scorer, but I just don't see us being able to keep him on the team. If we can, I'm for keeping him as the 6th man.

Fair enough.
Exum gordo and ariza would look pretty good.

I wouldn't trade Exum, Kanter, Hayward for Wiggins. I don't think. But I wasn't suggesting that. Just reporting what I heard Locke say about Cleveland wanting Hayward and how if Jazz had him under contract then a deal woulda been done. I would gladly part with Hayward and Kanter and picks for Wiggins, but I'm kinda in love with Exum now so I'd wanna keep the Aussie.

I like Burks more then Hayward right now. He consistently can get to the hoop every game. His outside shot has improved every year and his passing.
I like the future of Exum, Burks, and whichever SF we can get that is a 3 and D guy like Ariza. Ariza has been a favorite of mine for years as a role player but he is 28 already. By the time we fully develop he will be on the down fall. Rather find someone who can develop and build long term chemistry with the rest of the team. Hopefully it is Hayward. But this contract issue is unknown right now and I don't want to overpay for Hayward.

Hood!

I still think Hayward can be pretty good, I see your point.

I think the next Ariza will be Maurice Harkless on the Orlando Magic. Only played 24 minutes per game last year but shot 38% from the 3. long and athletic like Ariza. Good defender. and gets lots of steals. They are pretty much the same player lol Except Maurice Harkless is 21.
It would be a risk but I would trade Hayward to the Cavs and have the Cavs send Orlando Anthony Bennett and we get Maurice Harkless and maybe some draft picks or something.
I am very high on this guy.
I like Hood too. but we need somebody else to play play SF also. Share the time and see who comes out on top.

Do PGs post up anymore? Trying to think of examples... Westbrook?

Your right, guards in general don't go to the post up anymore. Today's style of play are designed to either have you guards shooting a 18+ ft jumper or driving into the paint. In the 90's guards posted up a hell of a lot more and were successful at it. I think that if you can have a guard that has the skill set to play with his back to the basket in today's style of play, you would have a huge advantage. The defensive bigs can't come over and help because the opponent that they are leaving would be able to catch a pass and have an easy basket. And the guy that you are posting up hasn't practiced to defend a back to the basket player because it isn't needed in today's game. If Exum can perfect this part of his game, our offense could thrive.

Rumors are involving all teams except the Jazz....we will take just the rejects of the free agency?

I don't want players like JL3 anymore!

Im pleasantly surprised to see someone vouching for Mo Harkless, i've made that suggustion in the past, he's an obvious fit here.

Id rep you like 5x for this post if i could. Unless Orlando is giving AG heavy minutes at PF, Harkless is gonna get squeezed for minutes, I'd bet Mo is on the trading block.

Except Harkless will be taking valuable minutes from Hood in the long term....

If Hood is a potential starting SF then we only need to sign a vet to a 1 year deal with Hood starting proper next year.

Mo Harkless is younger than Rodney Hood. If Hayward walks I say let them platoon the SF position, Alec can play spot minutes there too.

What's being younger gotto do with it?

If the FO believes Hood is our future at SF then it makes no sense to lock yourself into a long term contract with Harkless.
