Game 2: Utah at Golden State. TONIGHT! 830 ESPN

Exum needs to START even with Hill back.

I don't care if he plays the 2 but he is the only one capable of beating his man and getting into the paint.

Our main problem is our offense is TERRIBLE because we are stuck on the perimeter with NO ONE able to penetrate and force their defense out of position. RUDY is having no impact because we can't get into the paint and our shooters are getting terrible looks because we can't collapse their defense.

Hayward with 33 points and looked like the best player on the floor.

Exum was +4 in 14 minutes and played great D on Curry.

Gobert was so-so and still put up 16/16.

It took Draymond hitting 5 threes and some ******** shots to beat us tonight.

Plenty of positives going into Game 3.

Exum been shutting down Clark also... yeh yeh no biggie in a team filled with Allstars but Clark has been murdering Mack and Hill on back cuts and getting easy, team deflating buckets.

Someone heard my cry at last. Thats why im rooting for D-Rose, one of the best penetrators in the league. He might affect our offense more than anyone expects. And he is the only high caliber PG we can get offseason.
We have elite defense yes, but we need also elite offense to be a contender. Or we will not be anywhere better than the D-Will/Boozer team. Always hang in playoffs but never get to the point.

Yeh, thanks but no thanks on D.Rose (for a million reasons).

I haven't seen the game as I haven't been home yet. How were X and Mack on defense?

The game looked like it was won in the first quarter, we can't let them jump out of the blocks like they did, it becomes an uphill struggle.

I think aside from the bad start, the Jazz might have found a way to compete in the remaining games. But as long as the Warriors possess Durant, it will always be a really long shot. If everything goes like that for them and they finalize their run this year, I think Green will be the finals MVP.

But at the same time the Warriors are using this early push to keep the game at a comfortable zone for them. And by this comfort, they are able to keep moving the ball without panic and making easy open shots.

If the Jazz can somehow manage to withstand the early punch, they always have a chance.

Mack and Ingles wont settle here for the Money they are worth. Thats why no need to keep them here. Ingles played a good year and made a Money season. Next year he will get paid 10m p/year in Brooklyn nets but not here. If you guys think you can convince him to stay for 4-5 m for year, i am down. But i dont think he will settle for that amount.

Just let Mack, Ingles, Hill and Burks go. And Withey. Get one allstar caliber PG. A third stud as good as Hayward and Gobert. And two decent backup guys. The rest - JJ, Exum, Lyles- will do just fine.

If you guys wanna make the playoffs next year, struggle in first round and get smacked by GSW in the second again, well then keep stacking those similar type of bench players and treat Hill like he is a superstar. Sure we will get 50 wins, and maybe get past first round, (if everyone is healthy) but thats it. No chance of competing with GSW, Spurs, Houston, even Pelicans who might go after CP3 hard this summer.

Makes sense, but the problem is the delta between theory and reality... This summer the choice might be between giving Hill a massive contract, sitting on our hands or giving Teague or someone else a massive contract as well... Might not be many possibilities.

He didn't really play Mack over Exum. He played Mack over Neto. Exum is really playing off the ball. It's not and either-or proposition with Mack/Exum, and the two of them played together some times. Exum is playing Alec Burks' role.
This post would make me think that mack and X played together a lot...... which makes their plus minus stat very intriguing.

I mean when he tried to drive on Steph Curry and got called for a charge.

Or when he tried to attack Curry and had to hoist up and airball.

Or when he tried to throw a lob pass 20 feet in the air so Green could react and cause a turnover.

Or when he was just overall generally ineffective in half-court basketball.

Or when he went full out Alec Burks and fell to the floor for an impossible layup he didnt make so they had a 5 on 4 fast-break.
Impossible layup that barely missed and wasn't impossible at all?
What was the +/- for X again?

I feel like we competed against the warriors tonight in their place with some of our guys injured.
I would love to have the exact same roster next year and have some improvement from X, Lyles, burks and favors and better health.

I don't think The Jazz have figured out GSW - I'm not sure there is much to figure out. The Warriors won the first two games the same exact way they've been winning games all year. They go on a massive run, go up 15-20 points and then play about even the rest of the game.

Exactly. The calm score and get scored on routine after the early blowout is deceiving that this is their best. I just hope that this is not the case for the Jazz. Because they have the tools to hustle and put shooters out of rhythm in heated games. They just need to show the attitude.

Exum has moments where he's running around like a chicken without a head; but there is no doubt he's busting his *** out there and has been a net positive.

Something like 18-5 , 4 rebs. I think.
But its not about stats. He is the only allstar caliber player we could get right now whose skillset is perfectly fits our biggest need. He is a wild pick, considering injury or else, but you can't be sure Hill is gonna be more healthy than him as well.

Lets be serious, we cant win a championship with current squad even if they play together 10 years. As good as Hayward and Gobert are, they are nowhere near Lebron, Kawhi, Harden and likes. Hard to be a contender without having a single top 10 player in the league. So we need a third really good player. Hill, even if he is healthy all season, cant give us that lift from being a good team to a contender. In the offseason we should desperately push for him or Jrue Holiday. (since we aren't able to get CP3)
