Various notes:

Hornets = 2-1 as of 12/31/11. They have a game in Sacramento Sunday night so they'll be on the second night of a back to back. Eric Gordon has a knee injury that will likely keep him out of the game Monday, but who knows.

And for some reason, Alec Burks can't buy a minute in a Jazz uniform, but Raja Bell still starts.

Well I know this game thread doesn't reach Archie level greatness, but it's an attempt.

Well well well, what have we here...a real life game thread! May the new year begin with a Jazz win and Jazz effort matching Nate Dogs!

I sure hope Burks doesn't play again, because, you know, he's only played well during garbage time.

I feel Bells days are numbered. I have a feeling Bell will be replaced by Burks, rendering Bell obsolete and limiting Miles. Or Hayward may take Bells place while Howard takes the sf minutes, but this scenario I think gives Miles and Bell more minutes.

Anything that results in less Bell is good.

Another W to go along with our other W....I hope. I might have to jump on the tank the season wagon if we drop this one.

The piture of jarret jack looks like treach from naughty by nature.
Good gameday thread nate.
I think the jazz win this one. Last night i thought they actually played pretty well but the spurs (ginobli) had a stretch where they just went off from 3 point line and kind of took control of the game.
If they didn't get hot from 3 then we might have a chance to win.... on the road 2nd night of back to back against a pretty good spurs team.

6 of the next 7 at home. Looking forward to it. Expectations for this season obviously aren't high, I have the Packers for that. Jazz just need to take it slow and progress. W.

Gordon Hayward, on dealing with losing as a professional: I hate losing more than anything. More than anything. I've kind of been lucky enough to not have ever lost. So, it's definitely frustrating to me. Very, very frustrating. But it is what it is. You've just got to work to improve on it each day and just try to learn from your situations, so that way you can hopefully not lose as much. Like you said, there's no way around it. Sometimes you have to go through that: take a couple steps back, take a couple steps forward. It sucks. Losing is no fun. Definitely tomorrow on the day off, I'll get some more shots up. You've got to control what you can control. I was 1 for 9, so that's got to be better. I'll get some shots up and go out the next game.

What a champ. Expecting 16 points form Hayward, at least. Jazz with the W

Jazz and Hornets my picks for worst record in the west, and possibly overall.

Jazz sitting home today fixing the hangover, meanwhile New Orleans plays a late game in Sacramento tonight. Jazz shooting % is .400 (26th) New Orleans is worse at .391 (27th). But watch out New Orleans is a rebounding machine and the Jazz rank near the bottom in all rebounding categories.

Lets hope for overtime in Sacramento and a Jazz Victory.
