Game #8: Jazz at Warriors, Saturday 01/07/2012 8:30 MST

Favors and Kanter played pretty well, but I hope we don't have too many long stretches with them both playing along side one another. The offense really struggles. Fortunately, their collective rebounding helps to offset the problem a little. Sap was in foul trouble obviously, but Ty needs to juggle minutes to keep either Sap or Al on the floor to play with either of them as much as possible.

Kanter really can't do anything on offense right now besides post up, extremely simple passes, or hand-offs.

Harris got the memo and pushed the pace. He played faster. His defense still worries me, but just maybe he's getting more comfortable out there with his job in our offense. I think running more sets from the wing like we have in the last 2 games is going to help him. Take the heavy PG load off him and he can be pretty effective.

Yeah, he needs to play the least minutes of the 4. But I likey the way he plays. He just needs to be managed until he's up to speed. The game's still a little too quick for him right now.

If I'm Corbin I'm working with Kanter on passing out of the post. His moves work well against his defender, but are so slow the help D is always all over him by the time he is trying to dunk or lay it up. He needs to have an out he can reliably throw to, there should be guys ready for corner three's just like San Antonio does it.

I'm excited that he keeps finding himself with the ball right under the basket. Once he gets a bit stronger at the rim and learns to finish in traffic he might be able to get 6-10 points a game from the looks he's getting already.

True. His footwork is great; but it's so deliberate the defensive help has all the time in the world to get into position. You can use an hour glass to time that up-and-under move. I imagine he'll get better though. Olajawon probably didn't even have that footwork at 19.

Big Al + Millsap starting: 24 points, 12 rebounds, 1 block
Favors + Kanter off the bench: 18 points, 17 rebounds, 4 blocks

Wow with such a time disaprity to. 56 minutes for Millsap and Big Al. 40 minutes for Favors and Kanter.

However Millsap only got 9 and Big Al 15. That won't happen that often. What really is driven home to me is the rebounds and blocks.

Anyone recall seeing any cheap shots put on Monte Ellis in the game? All I recall is him jumping into our players for a foul so he could shoot his free throws.

"The Jazz took hard shots, and even some cheap shots, at Ellis every time they had a chance. He never lost his composure and filled the stat sheet with 32 points on 8-of-22 shooting and six assists - his seventh consecutive game with at least six helpers."

Interesting that because of all of the protections on the pick we have; The Warriors aren't able to trade any of their future 1st round picks.
