What's new

Game Thread - Jazz @ Kings - 8:00 PM MST

So far gains in Jazz' offense do not outweigh what Utah gave up, IMO. Midget guards and no ability to rebound from the 4. Middling play-off team; 1st round exit, no decent assets to make trades (well, not counting Mitchell or Gobert).

Jazz really need to be up around 115-120 pts per considering the addition of Conley and Bogdanovich. Of course, the bench unit was severely compromised. I'm not sold on Davis. He's a significant downgrade offensively. Green is nothing special. Royce hasn't stepped up and Ingles has underperformed.

This one sucks to lose, but we all knew it was a possibility. All 30 NBA teams are full of the best players in the world and when a team is the last win-less team in the league they are are going to come at you like a cornered animal.

But hey at least @Lord Bullingdon aka PGAB can show his face around here.

Well the law of averages say they were going to win sooner or later, unfortunately it came against us.

We lost the game on being completely out hustled on the boards, and missing key free throws.

Also, to anybody that had previously said that Mudiay has blown Dante out of the water already in just 5 games, get outta here with that BS. He continues to have high turnover games, more turnover's than assists this game. He also has this demeanor about him like he is always cruising, and not bothering to crank his effort out of first gear, almost plays like he doesn't give a damn a times. This isn't new, I've always thought this was the case with his previous teams.

Royce is worrying me at times. -25 today.

It's fine though, we'll beat the Clippers.

It was fun being #1 in the West for a minute.

We're still on the front end of this thing, maybe running at about 50-60% efficiency so don't give up on us just yet.;)

I kind of expected a reality check tonight with a) the way we thrashed them in SLC, b) the fact that Sac is a talented team that is probably better than their coach, and was desperate for a win, and c) they gained some confidence against us in a preseason blowout a few weeks ago. Psychologically, it's easier to get up for other good teams than to play a "poor" team constructed of talented players with nothing to lose.

this.

I’m not seeing the improvement.

* Bogie is definitely more dynamic offensively than Favors or Crowder. But his defense is poor and his rebounding is atrocious.
* We now lack size. Which is ironic, since we seemed to be too big and slow last year. If Gobert goes down, we have no life preserver to keep us afloat, like when we had Favors and could depend on him for a few games.
* I feel like our fast break game is awful. Our defense statistically might be fine. But it seems like our defense isn’t converting to easy fast break points. Could it be because Gobert is the only one who rebounds and initiates the outlet passes?
* We seem too one dimensional on offense right now. It’s concerning.
* What happened to the spacing? I thought Bogie was supposed to create driving lanes? Easy lobs to Rudy? Not seeing it.
* Our toughness is missing.

I know it’s early but I think this team has some glaring weaknesses. Again.
