What's new

Game Thread: SAS @ Utah, Fri 7:00 p.m.

No, and his agent has been criticized for this. Indeed, Curry is probably one of the reasons Hayward held out, i.e., his (Hayward's) agent did not want the same thing to happen. Any team in the league would pay Curry a max contract.

This is true but he did have what seemed to be chronic ankle injuries. Em signed that extension after a season riddled with missed games due to injury etc. but you are right he's been criticized.

I negged you because you are freaking out after one bad game. He played extremely well last game, and has for most of the season.

You negged rep me because you're acting like a baby. I wasn't freaking out. I was criticizing him for A bad game. What does last game have to do with how poorly he played in THIS game. I praised him for his good play. I am sure that both Stockton and Malone got criticized when they had a bad game. Did you negative rep other posters for criticizing Hayward? Is it not allowed to criticize Hayward? If so I didn't know this but is it OK for you to criticize Kanter for being disinterested or standing around. Maybe I should have negged rep you for that but that would be ridiculous and childish.

After seeing Grandpa Duncan, I'm not sure anyone can dethrone the Heat.

Indiana is the only team that has a chance in my mind right now.

Just that their scoring averages are both 20.3 ppg.

Yeah but dude is scoring 42 percent from the field and like 30 percent from three. I do not think, that he will even can hold this percentage, if he continues taking so many bad shots.

Selfish play is often outcome determinative. Make shots and your great. Miss shots and your selfish. last game Hayward didn't have a great game. The first half Hayward was terrible. He forced shots and took bad shots. He missed them. The second half he made the same shots he was missing and people think he had a great game. He is not shooting all that well he is shooting volume shots. Hayward is playing a little like Crymello. You know take 35 shots to score 24. But at least he got his. Contract years suck.

Tonight I think Hayward was injured so he missed more shots than normal. But he still took an awful lot of shots. Give it to the big guys and let them dominate.

I don't think the Heat are unbeatable. It is hard to 3 Peat. Both SA and Indy took them to severn games, Indy is better and tested. I will never discount the Spurs until Duncan and Parker are retired. They were seconds away from their fifth title. Miami is a year old and Wade's knees might not hold up for the year.

Not with his ankles. That is why both sides did the deal. GS knew they were taking a risk but they also knew they were getting him cheap. Curry took the deal for financial security due to some concern that his career might be over if he kept re-injurying his ankle.

Hayward came in shooting 46%/34%. That's not too bad. I think he's under a lot of pressure because the Jazz have no PG and very inconsistent contributions from their SF's. If Jefferson and Williams could start hitting their shots, maybe the pressure would be off Hayward to be THE scorer.

this was a loss..

It was a good loss. Jazz went toe to toe with the Spurs...outplayed them through three, then tired down the stretch. This is EXACTLY what I want to see. Even on an off night for Hayward, the starters were right there. Even Gobert got in some quality time. But the Jazz' youth and lack of a bench did them in.

The biggest assets Jazz have are their two very young bigs Kanter and Favors. They could be a force in the NBA, dominating for years. So you have to involve them more into your game, especially Kanter who is already a stud offensively.

Favors offense impressed me tonight. He's starting to look a little famished if not out right HUNGRY.

Favors had some nifty moves around the basket and even showed a little touch on some of his short shots. I'd like to see him finish the season in the 16/12 range.

Didn't read any of the thread and Im off to bed (have to work early tomorrow) but just wanted to say one thing:

Closing the game with marvin, jefferson, and lucas is no bueno...... maybe we are shopping them for a trade lol.

I thought dennis lindseybhad assembled a roster that was foolproof and that corbin would be forced to play the youth over the vets.... as this team gets healthy I realized I should never underestimate corbin

What game did you watch? Kanter **** himself all night. Then, turned around and ate his own ****.
