Gamethread: jazz in Milwaukee playing "just one game" at 18:00

Welp, Big Al and Milsap are going to try to practice today meaning that they might play on Monday

Damn... Whats the hurry?

So I know that the Jazz have had this rule where you have to practice once in full contact before you can play in a real game. If the Jazz go to this road trip, they might not practice at all during the stretch (I don't know their practice schedule but this is a hard upcoming schede. Anyways, Milsap and Al are hurrying to practice so they basically don't miss 4 games.

the rule probably does not apply to big al

Wouldnt it be the best road trip ever? Im asking too much questions i know but that one was rhetorical.

this is actually bad news.
al might rush back.
and be hobbled al at less then 100% is bad news.
a hobbled Al on defense would make sure we go 0-4 or 1-3 on this road trip.
sigh

So i think the jazz record without big al is now 6 wins and 1 loss..... also of those 7 games minus jeffy, 2 of them were wins by 30 pts or more. (i think the toronto game was a 33 pt victory)

I wouldn't be shocked. Honestly, Big Al the person is just great, and he's a very good teammate. If he could ever stand coming off the bench (and I will agree, the numbers he puts up probably would never let that happen) I'd love to see him back on this team. I just don't see it happening.

The problem isn't Jefferson. The problem is Corbin's use of him. If you use Al as a smaller piece of the offense he could be extremely valuable

actually he is a problem.
on the court speaking.
he needs the bulk of the shots at center to be a nuetral or positive impacton the game.
he needs to score close to 30 to not have a negative impact on the team.
at center he sucks.
and he is to slow to defend at the pf.
also he is taking away minutes form kanter and favors.
big al the basketball player is a problem to this team
big al the person might have a positive chemistry/lockerroom impact

I actually really wanted Milsap back, but definitely not Al.

And Dutch nailed it on the head.
If statistically, we are about as bad as the Bobcats (give or take) on defense when Al is on court.....then how much worse are we with a hobbled Al on the court???

It started with Earl [Watson], Randy [Foye] and Marvin [Williams]–the veteran guys. I thought the young guys did a good job of following their lead getting us off to a good start. - referring to the Jazz/Bobcats game on 3/1/13

Earl, Randy, and Marvin started the first quarter 0-3, scored a whopping zero points, and finished with a turnover in the first quarter.

Your head coach of the Jazz ladies and gentlemen.
Nate, may I use your signature?

If big al plays then my interest in watching this game significantly drops. If he doesn't then my interest in watching it increases a lot. I want to see how kanter and favors and the rest of our team look! Big al? Ya I've seen that the past few years. It certainly ain't pretty. I'm rdy for change
