Gamethread: jazz in Milwaukee playing "just one game" at 18:00

It's very rare for the young guys to not come through for us, whereas for Corbin and the vets it's a regular occurrence. I'd say you're far more hypocritical than the rest of this forum, considering you sing Corbin's praises on the rare occasion that he doesn't **** up and refuse to criticize him when he ****s up royally.

Rarely do I "sing his praises" I just don't rag on him and I see the reasoning behind his choices rather than just bash everything he does.

youve passed judgement on jennings as a bad player? hes scored 1,000 points in 4 consecutive seasons and hes 23. in your book its signed sealed and delivered, hes 'not good'??? i disagree
He's inefficient as ****, a mediocre passer, unspectacular (albeit decent) defender, and his teams consistently play their worst ball whenever he's on the court. Can you name a single point guard who's been as poor as Jennings through 4 seasons and ended up turning it around?

and it's not as if Jennings is taking tough shots on short shot clocks. He takes very few shots with time winding down. He just loves low percentage pull-up jumpers with 10 seconds left on the shot clock. He's one of the worst chuckers in the league.

I view Jennings as a 1/2 not a pure point, so our arguments are coming from different perspectives. your saying that jennings is the thermostat setting the stinktitude in milwalkee, maybe its naive, i find jennings to be more like a thermometer, playing to the level of the temperature in the room. bring him here with all these weapons, id contend hed use them instead of chucking.

how do you compare Jennings to
Jrue Holliday
Jeff Teague
?
i have them both as 1/2's as well.

and i wouldent classify 18.6points 6.4assists and 3.6rebs almost 2 steals per as 'poor' id classify that as 'above-average'

He's not half as good as either of those guys.

And he chucks for his stats. It's not as if he's putting up those numbers in limited minutes, sharing the ball. His stats are poor, his team does poorly when he's on the court. He has the ability to get hot once in a while, but he's not smart enough to understand when not to chuck.

I'd say he's about as talented as teague with a propensity to chuck more. Nowhere near Holiday's level, Holiday is so much bigger and a much better decision maker.

Well atleast we would have won the game with North Korean rules where you supposedly get 8 points for scoring with less than 3 seconds on the clock.

Also, Burks should have been the one to take the last shot. Hayward can never finish with contact and refs aren't calling fouls to end games. Burks can finish with contact.

That really ticks me off. Hayward was totally hammered. Why play the last 10 seconds under a different set of rules than the rest of the game??

I understand it on ticky tack calls, like holding, but yeah, that was ridiculous. If Sanders had kept his arms straight up the entire time, I would no call, but he swiped down across Hayward's body. I still think Burks would finish that play given the same circumstances.

I hate Corbin more than ever now. I hope you enjoy watching mediocrity because there is no way in Hell Favors is going to willingly play for Corbin after his contract is up. If Corbin is not fired before Favors' contract is up you can say goodbye to him. And Neither will Burks or Kanter.
.
Not playing a guy that had 23 and 15 for the last 17 minutes of the game is inexcusable.
.
I've been on Corbin for a while but this was just about the stupidest coaching job I've ever heard of.
.
Also I am so done with Millsap. Can't perform in the clutch. Turns the ball over when the game is on the line. Won't accept a role other than that of a starter. And plays about as much defense as Al and Boozer. Go ahead and keep defending him. But I am done. I hope I get a pair of tickets to a game this year (I am not paying **** to watch Al, Millsap, Marvin, Watson, Mo, or Tinsley play) I will boo everytime Millsap or Jefferson touch the ball. I no longer care whether the team wins this season. This team is pitiful and I hope they lose a lot. Because otherwise we are going to re-sign either Al or Paul and maybe both.
.
If I were Favors I'd be in KOC/Lindsey's office as soon as they get back and demand the coach be fired. At least then you'll know either you or him will no longer be here next year. It's the quickest way for Favors to get himself out of this ****.

... but the coach CAN choose to start his best players.

Just play the best players? Come on, that is madness!!!

Seriously though: I'm pretty sure if we built a robot that was programmed to just put the best 5 players on the court (and sub them out occasionally to prevent fatigue) we'd have a better "coach" than half the teams in the NBA.

... Millsap. Can't perform in the clutch. Turns the ball over when the game is on the line.

This. Wouldn't we be better off with Favors taking those FTs at the end? Even if he misses, at least that is experience gained. Anyone think Millsap has upside at this point in his career?

Marvin seems like a nice guy. Doesn't make him a good player. Watson seems like a douche, and is the worst NBA player I have ever seen. I wish the jazz were a popular team, and some big NBA analyst made a nice article about the +\- of the bench and all those crazy stats they think of, to show how bad our starting lineup is. Maybe that would get the wheels turning.

Based on what?

At least games like this make it less likely Al is back next year. We have plenty of bigs who can score.
