What's new

Gamethread: OKC Thunder @ Utah Jazz. 7PM MST.

Possibly, maybe, kinda.

Just to give some context for our American friends: Ferg did play in the NBL, for the Adelaide 36ers, Ingles' home-town team. Adelaide also has a rivalry with Melbourne, which goes across all sporting codes. When Melbourne played OKC in the pre-season, Ferguson stated "I hate Melbourne, I'm an Adelaide boy for life!" which the local marketing people picked up on.

However, when Jingles played in the NBL, he played for a now-defunct Melbourne team, and his wife is also from Melbourne. Maybe he was talking Melbourne smack to the "Adelaide boy"? It would be odd for an Adelaide person to turn so pro-Melbourne, though (and the reverse is also true)

Go drink mud.

Wow, that is saying something from Naos.

Except for Hood, every key player is a #Bulldog. How could I not love this team? From the standpoint of grit, this is basically my dream roster: active, in-your-face defense at every position.

I'm watching the last quarter and a half now (missed it cause i was driving to work) loving Joe talking smack and just getting into everybody's grill. Its gonna be a fun year, this team has bucket loads of character and a little bit of Aussie mongrel.

It was a duplicate and wouldn't let me delete it.
Donovan Mitchell's shooting has been impeccable this year so far. How dare any criticize 5/25 shooting. You guys are soft, yo.

Look i think he's being asked to do a whole lot more than anybody thought he would have to do two or three weeks ago. the kid competes like a lion, I think he will improve quickly.

I was worried about this game - and the Jazz beat a team that has three all-stars. Rubio was fantastic - best game I've seen him play as a Jazzman. He made some amazing passes - especially the one to Rudy. And I like how he swings the ball to the corner - Ingles was the recipient of a few of those passes and was wide open.

Despite too many turnovers (6 by Rubio) we still win. And it's nice to see the wordt +- on the team is a -2. Rubio led with +13. If he'd hit a few more shots he'd be +20+. It's a testament to his defense and intensity.

Thunder have a pile of crap bench and it showed.

Does that translate to him being exempt from criticising his shot for you? For me, it doesn't.

I don't think its his shot, its his decision making and having to adapt to the higher level and tempo he's having to play at. He'll work it out and make better choices.

And what's up with Ingles? He gives zero ****s.

We really don't give Joe enough love around here. He is a classic Spurs type player. Smart, makes teammates better, and probably a pain in the *** to play against.

His 3pt % is off the charts.

He WANTS TO BE HERE.

Newly signed.

He is someone all old man dad ballers out there should emulate, and look up to.

NAOS and a few others were spot ****ing on about Rubio.

He is a great fit as our playmaker. He brings an new exciting, dare I say fun energy to the offense.
The way he sets people up is so easy on the eyes.

The exciting part is he doesn't even know these guys that well yet, and the chemistry looks good out there. How will we be at the end of the year?

I love how much of a pest he is on defense. He bothers the other teams offense, and makes it harder for them to get comfortable. Then they have Rudy, Favors and Udoh inside waiting for them.
Haha, we are a nightmare for the league!

The most important asset maybe is his connection to our franchise, Mr. Rudy Gobert. They already seem to have something going better than him and Hill.

The Rubio hand off to Joe who passed to the cutting Gobert was a thing of beauty. It was as smooth as Joe Montana being on the same page as his receiver just as he turns his head.

Harp was funny when Joe hit the side of the backboard on one of his corner threes . "Joe would have made it too, if the backboard wasn't there".

Not happy Mitchell got thrust into the starting line up by chance twice already.

I want him to come in off the bench, and get comfortable. I agree with another poster who said he has one or two wow moments each game.
The thing that has impressed(maybe surprised) me most so far has actually been his passing. He has got a connection with Ingles and Rudy.

So exciting to watch this guy grow this year. I'm not worried about the shot at all.

IDK. It's one of those things. You only get your first start, once in your career.

I like that he started the first pro game he played in. I think it will help his confidence in the long run.

He won't be pissed off for the rest of his time as a Jazzman about it like DWill, that's for sure.
