What's new

Gamethread: OKC Thunder @ Utah Jazz. 7PM MST.

I think Mitchell is playing just fine. He's rushing his shot a lot but that's just him getting comfortable with the pace of the game at this level. He's been very confident and composed and played very well on defense and his passing ability is way above average. He's going to be better than a lot of posters here are thinking. His shot will come, the rest of his game is already translating and he doesn't look overwhelmed or intimidated.

Easy. He's more versatile, and definitely better on the perimeter, but let's not get crazy.

Ya that's why I said better defensive player. Not better rim protector.

Dmitch took on Paul George 1on1 and picked his pockets clean with some top notch defending, Y'all acting like had a train wreck game lol, he faded off to sleep last night with some good memories I betcha

The early hate is unreal. Mitchell has played pretty well overall if you look at his overall game performances across the board.

First time I've used the ignore function. I'm fine with disagreements and differing opinions but its pointless to argue with such a stupid low basketball IQ argument. Was Rudy phenomenal his first 3 games? How many players were? Im not saying Mitchell is going to be a great player but expecting full development to happen in 3 games, much less a season is astromically stupid.

Can you quote someone who said they expect full development of Mitchell 3 games in? You're right, dude. Low IQ.

I'm not a Mitchell hater. Love the kid, guys. He's just been mediocre at best when I was expecting a future super star. Yeah, he has lots of time and I hope he plays better. Heaven forbid I criticize how he's played so far.

I think it's fine to criticize him. I probably think it's poor form to go on and on page after page in a game thread for a game that we are getting a comfortable win against a title contender team with Mitchell playing big minutes in place of hood and exum.

So I shouldn't reply or have a discussion on a discussion forum or it's poor form? Gotcha.

Does Mitchell have a lot of promise? Absolutely. Has Mitchell played below my expectations - especially getting more minutes? Absolutely. If you're offended or feel the need to defend this, ball don't lie.

After about your 20th post in this thread about Mitchell we all understood how you feel. No need to tell us anymore. I mean you can if you want, but you don't need to.

It's just as stupid being positive. Call an ace an ace. Mitchell has been mediocre so far. If you're upset by this, you're a homer.

These posts just keep coming.

Hey Archie, how do you think Mitchell has played in his 3 games so far?

Except for Hood, every key player is a #Bulldog. How could I not love this team? From the standpoint of grit, this is basically my dream roster: active, in-your-face defense at every position.

lol

NAOS and a few others were spot ****ing on about Rubio.

He is a great fit as our playmaker. He brings an new exciting, dare I say fun energy to the offense.
The way he sets people up is so easy on the eyes.

I wasn't around lots during the summer-- did some people seriously ****ing think that Rubio was gonna be a terrible acquisition? That's mind-****ing-numbing to me.

There'll be times where we wish he could hit that crucial floater in the crucial-moments of the game (and frankly right now he seems to be doing that)-- but I seriously think we have the best contract for a PG (that isn't still on his rookie contract) in the NBA.

Hood will never be in a better situation for his career IMO-- it's a big season for him. I wish him the best.

And what's up with Ingles? He gives zero ****s.

My god he was good last night. I thought we overpaid for him. He might end up being a steal

Okc plays Minnesota tonight. Should be interesting to see how that plays out.

Some thoughts:

-If the Jazz can play like they did last night with any consistency, this is a 50-win team, even in this conference. Unbelievable how good this team can play so far, and they should only get better.

-With all due respect to Rudy, if there's a defensive player better than Udoh in the league at this point in the season, I want to see who it is. Rudy is blanket protecting the rim, but Udoh's defensive floor vision, instincts, and timing are blowing me away. He seems to make every possible correct decision and more. Totally blown away.

-Even on his new contract, Ingles is a damn steal. Pretty sure all of the best Jazz lineups will feature him and Rubio. His biggest issue is not shooting enough? Amazing.

-Rubio can only get better. The chemistry still has to develop as players are still surprised at having passes coming to them and it causes turnovers. When those situations get cut down, that's another three-or-so baskets a game. I don't love his pulling up for threes, but his pull-up midrange shot looks to be money and that's going to be important for his PnR with Rudy. And Jesus, the dude just hustles and gets into it.

-Mitchell in a lot of ways has been dog****. That he still impacts the game positively bodes well for him and the Jazz as he refines his shot selection, converts better, and builds chemistry with others. I think we would do well for him to cool it a bit, but I think he'll put it together.

-Rudy is just a ****ing monster. All he has to do is walk on the floor to change the opposing team's offense.

-Favors has looked damn good. That shot is going to be important, if it keeps going down and he's healthy, damn.

-Joe Johnson is invaluable when the offense stalls. Such a good player.
