Gordon Monson is getting destroyed on Twitter...

I think if Hayward would have stayed, we wouldn't have seen this side of Donovan as often. Hayward and Rubio would demand the ball on a majority of possessions, and this would hurt his game. Not having to worry about mistakes and letting Donovan be "the guy" has expedited his developement.

DMs fire would not have been extinguished by a dweeb boy like Benedict. Benedict would have been a mopey **** though.

I dislike Monson more than most, but this article was fine. Gordon owed the Jazz a better exit than they got. The Jazz have defied expectations without Hill and Hayward. Donovon is amazing and is more liked than Gordon ever was. The game tomorrow has less of a rivalry feel than it would have if Gordon was playing. Donovan has made it so we don't miss Gordon as much.

I mean, I've read a lot of Bill Simmons crap, and a lot of it is WAY worse than this article. He is such a Boston homer it is ridiculous. It is funny how Simmons gets butt hurt anytime someone says anything even slightly negative about Boston.

Simmons is a ****witt. End of story. I think this is a widley excepted pov, why else would his only platform be podcasts? He once had guest appearances on national tv discussing hoops... he has no objectivity what so ever and his homerism is beyond painful to listen too.

On a side note.

I was once going to fly over to to vent all my hate when he came back, that crowd would have been one of the more hostile crowds EVER!!

But now I kind of hope we collectively just ignore him whenever he returns and just cheer for our players. Im worried of the impression such a hostile and vicious crowd would leave on DM and co.

He was a little insensitive about the injury... it wasn’t funny either. Outside of that this is not much to see.

I remember when Love was traded there was a video where twolves fans acted super indifferent to him leaving. Don’t remember them killing them. This ain’t much different except Gordon got hurt.
They got the 1st pick in the draft for Love. It's a slightly different scenario.

Didn't see anything in the article worth the ballyhoo, it's a pretty factual history of events. I guess Simmons was desperate for some clicks, given how irrelevant he is these days.

There was nothing wrong with the article. The problem is this tweet which Trump apparently helped him compose. Completely idiotic:

The jazz are doing fine without Hayward. Truth
Gobert is a stud. Truth
Mitchell is going to be a star. Truth.
Probably bigger than you (Hayward) Truth
You’re not missed. Truth

Not seeing what the big deal is

You know now that I think about it... this story was always going to end the same way... Gordon was always going to end up dead at the feet of the true alpha Spida Mitchell... if he stays DM kills him to take over the heard and provide a true leader... if he goes he dies at DMs feet as a foe. Really forward looking move by Gordon bailing when he did... but remember they story only has one end.

I like people making the ‘texting an ex-girlfriend’ argument. Boston is coming into town. What’s he supposed to do, ignore Hayward?

All this avoidant nonsense as pretend we don’t care to give off the appearance of a ‘high road’ or some ****.

I know I’m still not over Betrayward. Or Boston. Or Ainge. **** all 3. Every time I see Ainge’s face on tv, I want to smash it with a brick. I want Haywood to regret his decision every day for the rest of his life. So, yeah, I’m still bitter.
Love JT.

Don’t miss the game thread.

There's no doubt Mitchell will be better than Haywood. Mitchell's work-ethic is superior and I wouldn't be surprised to see Mitchell the better player as early as next season once Haywood is healthy.

It’s much more like running into your ex at a party and talking about your new girlfriend a lot so she knows you are totally cool without her.

Half of Simmons’ reason for his tweet was to rile up Jazz fans.

It worked.

He should be careful. I believe there is a curse on Boston dating back to when BS bad mouthed Deron back in the day. KG sustained his injury in Utah that year shortly thereafter. The curse is awoken every time he bad mouths the jazz.

I generally like what Monson writes in his articles, but find him sometimes overbearing and juvenile on the radio. Nothing wrong with what he wrote referencing Traiturd; much ado about nothing, but Simmons has overreacted before. Whatever venom and hatred people have for Traiturd is understandable. In every way possible, he botched his exit from Utah, alienating fans and giving his teammates the big fat middle finger, even though it was his choice to make. After six minutes in his new uniform, he reaped what was sown. It is that simple. Let's move on and enjoy that Utah lucked into a lottery win with DM, who already is easier to like/root for, and has proven he cares much more for our team and state than the other guy ever will. The Jazz are better off.

I find it interesting that the article and the first 88 posts did not address Angie. He screwed us as much as Hayward and I am as upset with him as anyone. Hayward was a coward and hurt the team that loved and developed him. Ainge has Utah ties and could have lessened the blow. Instead he chose to withhold the traded player exception and hose us. I will never forgive him for that. With that move Boston passes the Lakers as my most hated team.

As a side note...With Boston’s crap move they have withdrawn from the Utah summer league. As one of only 4 participating teams they may have killed that as well.

Hayward isn't even playing?

I really don't think we should care. The Jazz haven't had this bright of a future in a long time--never in the Hayward years could we be so optimistic. We have a player who legit could be the first option on a championship team. We have the best defender in the league and a guy who will go down as one of the best defenders ever. Mitchell and Gobert are two hall of fame talents (obviously, anything can happen. But the talent is there). We can find a new third cornerstone--Hayward leaving sucked, and he is a great player, but he is also replaceable. Mitchell and Gobert are the special talents that are rare, and that you dream of getting, that we have watched everyone else in the league have for a very long time. We are no longer stuck on the treadmill of mediocrity. Honestly, Hayward leaving hurt us in the short run, but in the long run we will be fine. We might even be better than we've ever been. We have players who have the potential to finally bring the chip to utah. We didn't have that in the Hayward era.

This is not to bag on or dismiss Gordon. obviously he would be a great third piece for this team. But like someone above said, his destiny is to lead the Pelicans to the tenth seed in a season or two. I just don't get the obsession with hayward. Our high school girlfriend left, but we got a great new job and a cooler girl who likes us better. Why still be bitter?
