Grayson Allen predictions

My expectation are pretty low to be honest. I think he is in the 'break in case of fire' bin right now and will only see play in garbage or due to an injury/foul trouble.

My theory is that they drafted him with an eye towards trading Exum. But, I think the Exum trade ship has sailed, so he's sort of a man without a role until an injury happens.

Udoh and Neto won't be in the rotation if Grayson gets minutes.

I think Crowder and Thabo get the backup PF minutes... Royce gets 20 minutes at backup SF/Wing... Exum picks up 20 minutes as the 3rd guard and Allen gets maybe 8-10 minutes.

I also think Thabo will be eased in and was more of an addition for the playoffs. Expect his regular season minutes to be really limited when we are full strength. He is also a great culture guy... just don't think he plays a ton.

Gives us a 9 man rotation. Most teams don't go too much farther than that and we have 3 guys (Royce, Exum, Crowder) which should all get 20+ minutes off the bench imo. Not much left for others... but the good news is I think every guy can play and give us something when called on.

I think we'll have more blowouts than last year and hopefully minutes go down for our starters, giving Exum and Allen a chance to play more. Rudy played too long in several games last year, with several games over 40 min or close to it. And Donovan averaged over 33 minutes, a lot considering he wasn't a starter in the beginning. He had a bunch of games with over 40 min.

I’m not sure that’s true... I do think only two of Ricky, Exum, and Allen are on the team long term. It really depends where DM is best. If he’s better as a primary initiator then shooting is more important to put around him than ball handling.

I think this year they sort it all out. I think Dante could be moved but I’m a believer in what he could be and am looking forward to seeing what he’s got.

I think Grayson will take the minutes AB had last year.

sort of agree but i don't think it's necessarily this year that it's all sorted. Definitely in the next two seasons we'll see the long term plans

I don't know what he'll average, but I do believe he'll have 5-6 games where he'll get 15+ points off the bench or be a decent contributor in a win.

It depends... we have to figure out Ricky if we want to use cap space on one of the decent FAs... that is the only time pressure otherwise I’d agree.

I predict that it would be hard for Quinn to keep Allen on the bench. The kid plays with an intensity that would help spark the bench unit. I wouldn't be surprised if by the end of the year he is averaging 18 min a game.

Not to give a hot take, but Allen moved really well, showed quickness and IQ and an ability to make different plays. His ceiling as a player is higher than I thought. His athleticism gives him upside.

His shot at 1:44 was a bit Curryesque.
