Hardy Says Keyonte Has a Chance to be a Star

I guess 2-8 over the last 10 games is watchable if you're rooting for losses.
Sometimes you have to tear it all down to build back up and better doesn’t mean I enjoy losing. I’m enjoying the young guys and am invested in my team like you should be. I deal in reality we are rebuilding. You should at this point root for losses.

This team is in no condition to win so why on earth would you want this team to win any games. Understand the situation man!! Don’t be an idiot. What’s happening now is far better than when we were winning with no hope for playoff success year after year after year after year. Those years were the very definition of insanity. The basketball gods (The Churro) were trolling us during those years. But I’m sure you’re perfectly fine with that whole situation. At least now I can see a dim light at the end of the tunnel, where as before, yes we were a good team but a good team in quicksand and going nowhere fast.

I don’t know about you but I’d rather suck with options (assets galore) then good not great with no options but to rinse and repeat. So to get back to your post. You have no clue. I’m not some troll enjoying the team losing. I love my team and want them to be good and if that means the product has to suffer for a while bring it on. At least there’s a hope we haven’t had in a few years.

Key is a fantastic prospect and I don't have a problem with the franchise believing in him....I do think we are doing to much if we're operating the team as if Lauri/Sexton do not exist. Those guys are pretty damn good.

So didn’t think it deserved its own thread but was looking at craftednba… it’s a fun little site. When you run a player comparison tool for Key one of the comps that kinda made some sense is Brandon Knight. I think he would be a plus version of him potentially and his career would have been different without all the injuries. Anyway… thought it was interesting.

The comps they had for Sextons age 25 season were eye popping. Brunson, Donny, and a lot of greats. Made me think a bit. Anyway fun little site.

+1 for craftedNBA. Great stuff.

It’s funny, I was going to make a similar thread. The comparison that caught my eye was Zach Lavine….especially with DA saying they’re not necessarily committed to him being a PG. To me that means he might be used off ball like he did at Baylor. Key is not going to win dunk contests….but I think he may have the same growth path as Zach, who they tried to make a PG/Primary ball handler first.

He looked so much better when playing with Collier in summer league imo. I think he can be a pg but is better when he doesn't necessarily run the offense.

I’m not too big into positional labels…but I definitely think he’s better off with someone else being the brains of the operation. I also think he just has a lot of potential as an off ball player. He was running off screens like crazy at Baylor and shooting crazy movement 3’s. I think there’s some untapped potential there.

The pull up jumper is a thing of beauty. Hes going to be able to get off 8-10 3s per game with decent quality while having foul merchant skills. That's where I really believe in him being more than just a 6th man just has to bring the defense up to a passable level

I don’t think Clarkson is a bad comp or outcome for Key. 10+ year career that far exceeds the expectation of a 16th pick.

But then again, if he’s not Mitchell who even is he?????

The question wasn't "Do you think Keyonte has star potential?"

He said this without being prompted to.
There's a reason he has been playing from the get go. Hardy has been around greatness, and in the early stages too. He knows what he is talking about about. Hopefully he is right.
