What's new

Hill is probably going to the Jazz, if they want him.

spot on, i think there's still enough raw talent with the young guys to improve even further from where we are, particularly if one or two of them really take off.

must get rid of Burks and Diaw's contracts tho
If Mitchell can play defense, I think he's smart and athletic enough to get quality minutes for a solid, playoff team by the end of the year. Tony Bradley might play some in the regular season, but not the playoffs. Hood, Exum and Gobert will all continue to improve. Agree that Diaw and Burks need to be moved for money reasons. I'm expecting Hayward, Hill and Jingles to all be back.

lol i like the spite ! but yeah .. nah just pay Hill

Not spite, just biting sarcasm.;)

I got into an argument over this a week ago with 5 or 6 people flipping me ****, telling me Hill will get a lot less and basically saying DL would play hardball. I brought up the scenario that Hayward may be waiting on Hill being signed before committing, and that idea seemed to be dismissed. So yeah, this is me prematurely thumbing my nose at those guys who said the market had dried up and therefore Hill would get a lot less. He still may, but I don't think we'll be in a position to force the issue. We might be lucky not to lose him to SA, regardless of his contract.

I think Mitchell will be able to contribute from day one, and could be starter worthy sometime in his rookie year. I'm THAT stoked about this pick. I doubt Bradley plays much more than garbage minutes in his first year, and I expect him to spend some time in the D league or G league or whatever letter league they're calling it these days.

If Hill/Hayward comes back. Apparently they come as a package.

Hill, Exum, Neto (Goss Dleague)
Ingles, Hood, Mitchell, Burks
Hayward, Joe Johnson
Favors, Bolomboy (Diaw)
Gobert, Withey, Bradley

Would love this roster. Getting rid of Mack! Team is more athletic, and skilled all around.
Lets get stronger, and more athletic across the board with Mitchell, and Bradley.

Trade Hood and Diaw for a quality 4/5, sign Teo, and I'm right there with you! :)

None of the latest news is news which is why it's been my stance for quite some time now.

Go for it or blow it up then go for it later.

Along with development we need to be healthy. Favors when healthy is a damn beast. Rock solid. We didnt see that in the 2nd half of the year.

Hood. On again off again injuries. He did a pretty good job of returning from them, but he needs to stay healthy.

Hill. If he comes back he cant miss so many games. I say he is injury prone, whether it's his fault or not is another story, injuries found him often last year,
and he was slow to come back from them.

Burks. If he stays, and especially if Hayward goes, he needs to stay on the court. We will look to him for more touches, and offense if Hay walks.

This. If Hill misses, say, 10 games rather than 30, and Hood is healthy and shoots just a little better (40.5% from three), and Favors is ol' Favors, AND Exum really does wow us as Lindsey's recent remarks suggest he might, then there's no reason this can't be a 60 win team and Western Conference Finals competitor.

Let's ****ing go.

Bitches fretting about paying George MF Hill r gonna be choking on their own **** when we're 15-5 after the first 20 games and he's healthy and killing it

If it takes re-signing Hill to keep Hayward, you do it (Within reason of course, don't give him the max that's crazy. 4/80 is fair and hopefully would get it done)

Hill/Exum/Neto (Williams-Goss 2 way Gleague)
Hood/Mitchell/Ingles
Hayward/Ingles
Favors/Joe Jesus
Gobert/Bradley/Bolomboy

If Hill and Ingles stay Burks has to go for some tax relief. And to relieve the cluster**** at guard. Mack is let go. Diaw is released to relieve tax. Withey is let go. We'd still need help at 4/5. And a trade would likely be eventual with one or more of Exum/Hood/Favors because we couldn't pay them all next year.

Guys - we won't win jack **** if we pay Hayward and Hill a combined $50 million per year. No chance.

Hayward is worth max, but not because we overpaid Hill. I hate our situation.

It's a catch 22. If we overpay Hill in order to keep Hayward then it will be tough to get the last few pieces needed to take this team into championship contention. But, if we lose Hill which leads to losing Hayward then we are back on the treadmill of being a never improving 6/7/8 seed or late lottery team. Because we all know that the Jazz will try to acquire veteran pieces to replace them in order to try to remain a playoff team instead of tanking for a year or two. Hopefully the Jazz can find a compromised deal to keep Hill and Hayward if that is what it's going to take. It might be costly but hopefully not too crazy.

If its that simple Hill = Hayward then you pay the man. He is worth 4yrs/$80Mil imo, he was AMAZING! and super efficient when healthy, lethal from 3. He also provides great veteran leadership and has never been super quick so his game won't drop away like others.

It'd be awesome to have a commitement from Hill before you meet Hayward on Monday.

But Hill doesn't have much reason to sign that early unless we max him out.

Unless hill really wants to be in utah and really wants hayward in utah with him.

It would be nice to give Hill the same years as Hayward. If hayward does 1+1, having hill on a shorter contract would be nice to reduce risk due to age/injury.

Maybe it's his stoic look. Or lack of any evidence of what he's thinking.

But I don't. Get that feeling from him at all.

This feels like an "I'd go to any team that offered me a dollar extra" contract for Hill. I have no evidence of course.

What is the upside of dealing Danny Green on a good contract for Hill on an iffy one. Remember that Green took less money to fit Aldridge in. Danny is the same age as Hill.

Because George Hill is way better than Danny Green....

I agree with you. I think $$ is his number one motivation

Thibodeau getting the gang back together. . .

Thibbs and Rose never got along that great. Sorry but why would minny trade in one guard that can't shoot for another one? Rubio has chemistry with Minny, passes the ball greatly, and plays defense. Rose to Minny make zero sense and just shows journalist will write anything when they have no facts... Just like all Then people in twitter talking bout the Lakers wouldn't take Ball. So much game news out these days it's disgusting
