What's new

Hill is probably going to the Jazz, if they want him.

"AK's going to work on his jump shot this off-season."

Every year.

He also added 15 lbs of muscle every offseason... by the end he would have been bigger than mailman if true.

If that is the case you pay Hill and pay the tax to keep Ingles... a little money won't kill us... we've been stacking paper like crazy last few years... if we lose Hayward this franchise hits the hamster wheel or we have to tank the eff out of this B and both of those options cost money. We can dump Burks and Favs to save money. If we cheap out I will be so pissed.

Yep. I fail to see the pickle.

AK did add a lot of muscle every year, and then subsequently lost it as the season progressed. Dude must have had a high metabolism.

Here is how I see it reading tea leaves.

Hayward has good options and will hear everyone out... His preference is to stay here and us meeting last gives us a chance to set up a good contingent offer on Hill and turn to Hayward and say we have him locked up if you commit. Gives Hill a chance to see... there is no max out there and settle on 4/80 with us... a slight overpay but it is absolutely worth it.

If we get something done he comes back... leaving just doesn't make enough sense to tarnish what he has done here. If we can't figure it out then he goes to Boston with good reason.

Taking on Rubio now (his only real option to clear space) gives Hill a fall back plan if they miss on Millsap or Lowry.

Don't take Rubio... I have no interest at this time.

I think we may be underrating the challenge that might come from dumping Burks.

I'm actually really hopeful now... it seems like Hayward is saying here is a few days... figure this **** out and we are good.

We pay Hill at 4/80 and allow him to save face. Even if Ingles gets 15M we can get out of the tax by moving Burks and Favs. Could like move Favs into someone's space and get a small asset and move Burks with the small asset we acquire.

Don't freaking cheap out. Hill is damn good and now seems like he has had a come to Jesus moment. Hayward has bonded to very few guys.. Hill is from his home state and just fits what we do so well.

Run. It. Back.

We could move Favs in that case and still minimize the tax hit. Stretch Burks if he can't play for the following year...

15 lbs of muscle is very hard to add. He may have added 15 lbs and some of that may have been muscle.

They should pay up. But I'd rather they lessen the tax burden by moving on from the likes of Burks and Diaw. Favors should either play or bring back value.

We could keep everyone and sign Hill for 4/80 and Ingles at 4/41 and we are $9M over the tax... Trade Favs and we are under tax by $3M... Use BAE or MLE to get a decent 4... use our wing depth to cover the PF.

We will cut diaw if he isn't traded and can bring him back for vet minimum.

This is all very doable guys.

We won't bring Diaw back at 7.5... he will get traded or waived and resigned at a lower number.

Who is going to play PF in that scenario?

Not sure what the PF quality will be that you can get for the MLE, but probably much less than Favors. That would be a serious blow to the team in my opinion.

I am shocked that some of you are actually considering giving Hill $20 and Ingles $15. Add in Hayward at over $30. $65 million for those three. 2/3 of our entire cap on 3 guys when only one of them is a great player on the right side of 30 when the season starts. And you want to dump Favors to make sure we avoid the luxury.

I think we'd be better with Teodosic, Hayward and Favors than Hill, Ingles, and Hayward. And cheaper so we can actually afford to keep Hood, Favors, Exum, etc.

Hayward is holding us hostage.
