What's new

Houston has the best eye cancer centers in the country.

Retarded people need to laugh, too. So calling someone retarded is okay since that'll allow retarded people to laugh.

Go ahead. It's a free country.

I dare you to read every one of my posts, and then tell me what I think about calling people retarded.

Oh, and comparing retarded to cancerous... genius.

Only if you only choose the articles that support your point.
Who says my opinion is based on nothing, besides you?
Anyone can write an article, it doesn't mean it's true, even if they think it's true.

I can think your opinion on the topic is just as much horse manure as you think my opinion is.

Again, I say we agree to disagree.

The articles I linked to were news items, not opinion items. Anyone can write an article on what cancer centers actually treat retinoblastoma using a specific treatment that can be chosen. But I guess it's true that it takes the reader to believe that 2+2=4.

It is a free country and he had every right to make the joke. Just like I have every right to call him out for making a classless joke. I have no problem with Bean, none. But that was pretty stupid and thoughtless.

Let's see...retardation and child cancer...let's see...both are unavoidable, generally genetic disorders, especially in children...yeah, the comparison is legitimate. I guess using one for laughs is okay because it's more socially acceptable to do so.

This might be the worst comparative argument I've ever read.

Explain. Again, both aren't preventible, especially cancers like retinoblastoma in children. So, I assume, you think it's okay to make a joke rooted in someone's child having cancer, but not okay to make a joke rooted in someone's child being retarded?

HUge difference between CHOOSING where you want to go as a FA and being traded. Besides, his daughter might be completely healed at this point. I was one of the biggest Fisher critics and called him disingenuous on a few occasions. But it's time to let it go, especially since this was a trade.

You are right, I am wrong.
I take it all back.
I also have now changed my mind about Fisher.

Thank you.

What's intriguing is the last 2 notable trades with the Lakers were made by Memphis's Jerry West, and now Byron Scott of the Cavs. Both former guards for... none other than the LA Lakers. West's trade netted them Pau Gasol. I used to kinda like Sessions, thought we could use him. Now I have to hate him and hope he s..ks...

Good hell give me a break.

Beings that we all have such easily accessibility to information, you should know that the Pau trade was orchestrated by Chris Wallace

I laughed. The joke isn't funny because of cancer - it's funny because of Fisher's pleading to go to a New York city for their treatment center (which ended up being LA). And now heartless LA trades him away from a city that was treating his daughter (or was she still being treated in NYC anyway?)
When I heard he was traded to Houston my first thought was - Will he now ask Leslie Alexander to let him out of his contract, again for the sake of his daughter?

I hate Fisher. I hated that the Jazz traded Owens and Mcleod for him - That's how much I hated him. I hated seeing him in a Jazz uni and I was glad he wiggled his way out of his Jazz contract. But I still hate him, on or off the team. Him and Kobe are the two people that will keep me out of heaven. It has nothing to do with his daughter.

But in spite of the hate, the critique I have with the joke is that it is sooooo an hour and 45 minutes ago.

Leave the guy alone. Do you have daughter with a life threatening disease? And If you answer yes and can still dog him for this than you have some soul searching to do.

Actually, I think Camby and Dalembert are reasonably handsome guys. It's that Greg Smith that looks like a walking sphincter.
