I don't think Mitchell starts all year. I think Hood has his best year yet. Much more consistent. I'm guessing around 15.7 ppg. 38% from three. TS% of 56%. And we're in a pickle at year end on how to proceed with Hood, Exum and Favors all having looked good.

I think you should try to bet someone $1000 over this.

He is going to start eventually because someone will have to sit due to injury or rest at some point.

Future all star dude.
Will go down as best 2017 class player.book it.

Who you trading him for?
he has some trade value so do you have something in mind?many would the Jazz want to get rid of him?

Jazz won't trade him because Utah will be in the midst of vying for the playoffs. Then, when he's offered a ton by Brooklyn or some other team, the usual naysayers will slam DL for either paying too much, or letting him go for nothing when he could have been traded for a churro and late 1st at the deadline.

Rinse and repeat for Exum and Favors. It was the same with Hayward. Most thought his value was in the 8-10 range. Then revisionists criticized Utah for not getting him to accept 12m...or for Utah not having a crystal ball and just giving him a max deal, which, of course, those same posters would have screamed was a huge overpay.

I think Hood reads the tea leaves and extends at a reasonable price. Cap space will be tight. I think Exum is less likely to extend as the gap between what he'd want and what we'd give at this point would be significant.

Favors trade market is indicative of his FA value... name me some teams that are good trade fits and what will they give. I mean if Favs is healthy and good his value will shoot back up, but i don't see a 4/100 out there for him like his agent may think he gets. I think it will be closer to 4/60 and that is if he is healthy.

I think we are fine to retain our guys if we want to... the chances that all three remain 100% healthy and have great years is fairly slim... even if they do we have flexibility with the team options and potentially trading or stretching Burks with one year left.

If Hood resigns and remains healthy , I think Mitchell replaces Ingles next year or the year after that. If Hood is traded, then next year for sure.

Deron didn't start until his 2nd year did he? I'd think 2nd year for Mitchell as well unless injuries force him in faster.

I wouldnt' pay attention to him starting or not as much as watching his minutes month to month. Want to see a continual increase there the first year.

I'm going to be optimistic and say after the break, mostly becuase that'll mean he's the next great Jazz player.

I really want him to be. He's extremely athletic, seems to care about playing defense, has great shooting form, publicly said he wants to be in Utah, and just oozes leadership. Perhaps I'm drowning in the kool aid here, but he's the total package.

I think the Jazz are going to be very competitive right away. This is a team full of players who have played together for 3 plus years ,all still young and getting better.

I don't see Mitchell's play in SL translating to the NBA right away.No way in hell will he get the green light to gun up 25 shots a game like SL.

Exum and Burks and Hood and Rubio will be top 4 guards this year.Mitchell will learn by watching til someone gets hurt.

My guess is he fills in due to injuries to start out & eventually earns some spot starts /heavy minutes towards the end of the season.

His mentality/physicality appear to make him the type of rookie capable of starting much sooner than later. But I expect management to bring him along fairly slowly as the development & assessment of our young talent (Mitchell, Exum, & Hood in particular) shouldn't come at the expense of attempting to win games.

I fully expect Mitchell to quickly hustle his way into Snyder's good graces from day 1, parlay that into a significant role by mid-season, & begin cracking the starting lineup near the end of the year.

I expect him to be a regular starter by the beginning of next year at the latest. But if Hood or Ingles get traded, that would obviously expedite the process. In the end tho, I'm not sure it even matters as Mitchell seems like the type who will be successful regardless of whether he begins his career as a starter or at the end of the bench.

Deron took over the starting job about half way through his first year.

Starters: Rubio, Hood, Ingles, Favors, Gobert:

Backups: Exum, Mitchell, Sefolosha, JJ and Udoh. With Jerebko, Burks and Neto for added depth. Bradley and O'Neal in the G League.

Really like the 2nd group. Dante and Donovan can get out and run. Defensively, both are plus defenders and Udoh is Rudy-lite in terms of rim protection and switching on smaller players.

Yeah, it's coming back to me now. He still seemed to make the big leap in my mind the start of his 2nd year. I think Mitchell has a lot better players in front of him than Deron ever did, so I'm sticking with next year as my prediction.
