What's new

If anyone cares, Big D visits Utah. 7 PM MST. 3/12/14.

is it?
u convince me, my brother sir.
20 pts on 18 shots?
really?
BTW;
a guy like Favors should be collecting more than 5 rebs in 28 minutes!
He is way better than this!

The league average for points per shot is about 1.21 pps; 20 pts on 18 shots equates to 1.11 pps, so it is indeed below average.

That equates to 1.28 pps, which is above the league average

Yeah, that was my point.

He said Burke having 20 points on 17 shots was inefficient. Was saying that is the average of our most scoring efficient wing.

jope was referring to burks

They're both referring to how Burke and Burks relate to each other.

Burks is slightly above average. Burke was just a smidge below the average for this game, thus meaning that Burke was nearly as efficient this game as our most scoring efficient wing usually is.

If any of you are still confused, then I give up.

I love how our team utterly refuses to throw the ball into the post or refrain from chucking. Here we are 60+ games into the season and they still haven't figured out why teams let us keep shooting from the outside. It's really getting to the point where it might take another season or two before the new coach can undo completely all these bad habits developed by our guards and wings.

I was at the game tonight and there were so many terrible calls. I cheered, but wasn't sad with the L.

for guards? it is not a bad night.
8-18 shooting for a total 20 points is inefficient.
4-12 is plain bad (=Burks)

edit: besides, I dislike the idea that their best PG is a ballhog! Burks on the other hand is da man! He has been huge this season.

The only thing to me though is imagine this scenario. A player scores 10 points on 5-10 shooting. That is 50%, which would be incredibly good of a fg%. I guess I'm not factoring in 3 pointers and free throws though.

I like to think of it from a team perspective (as i do with most stats). If a team is going to score one point per shot they are going to have the worst offense in the league, hands down. I'll take the eye test every day though, I mean i didn't see the game today, how do i know those 10 fga's don't include 2 half court heaves etc.

Oh good grief.

Listen, people that discuss the things that Kanter does poorly are not haters, they're just realistic and pointing out flaws. Learn the freaking difference. You can disagree with somebody and not hate them, you can discuss flaws and not be a hater. This isn't that difficult.

I think what makes some people haters are the people who ONLY discuss a players flaws and never discuss a players positives. Im not saying that is you, but there are some posters that only talk about the negatives of kanter, and to a lesser extent, burks and burke
