That is a deep rabbit hole. It will take some time to answer, but if you want to get a head start, look up 'Independent State Legislature Theory'.Mind elaborating? What exactly was Trump trying to do, by your own admission?
Anywho, back to the topic that was being discussed:I've never said the US President has no power. The President does have power but only the power the US Constitution had granted to the holder of that office. The US Constitution is king. The President is only a minister of the Executive Branch under the US Constitution.
I've also said the President doesn't make much difference in my life. I do fine when Democrats hold the office and I do fine when Republicans hold the office. I thank the US Constitution for limiting how wildly any single office holder, even one as powerful as the US President, can swing things. The system is a true work of art cobbled together a quarter of a millennia ago. It isn't perfect but I haven't seen a better system yet.
I hear what you're saying. I just disagree.Anywho, back to the topic that was being discussed:
trump has had the loudest voice and largest influence in American politics over the last 8 years.
trumps rhetoric, immorality, vitriol, divisiveness, scandalous combative treacherous scumbag douchey nature is what motivated the would be assassins.
trump does his damage to society simply by being in the discussion.
Let's say trump gave up politics after losing the last election and didn't make a big fuss about his loss. Currently it is Nikki Hailey vs Biden or Harris. The division, anger, hate, combativeness, rhetoric, hyperbole, etc of American society would be much less than it currently is.
In his mind trying to do something is ok, as long as it isn't successful. You know, like how attempted murder shouldn't even be a crime.Mind elaborating? What exactly was Trump trying to do, by your own admission?
This candidate you are about to vote for again.
So who has had a louder voice and larger influence in how americans discuss politics over the last 8 years then?I hear what you're saying. I just disagree.

So Trump is “flooding the zone with ****” in order words? At least the suggestion that Iran was behind the 2 assassination plots seems to have originated with Trump himself. Therefore, it must be one of his lies:
Sept 25 (Reuters) - Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on Wednesday said Iran may have been behind recent attempts to assassinate him and suggested that if he were president and another country threatened a U.S. presidential candidate, it risked being "blown to smithereens."
Trump made his remarks at a campaign event after U.S. intelligence officials briefed him a day earlier on “real and specific threats from Iran to assassinate him,” according to his campaign.
Federal authorities are probing assassination attempts targeting Trump at his Florida golf course in mid-September and at a rally in Pennsylvania in July. There has been no public suggestion by law enforcement agencies of involvement by Iran or any other foreign power in either incident.
“There have been two assassination attempts on my life that we know of, and they may or may not involve, but possibly do, Iran, but I don’t really know,” Trump said at an event a pipe-fittings plant in Mint Hill, North Carolina.

That is his standard approach to everything. So Trump is “flooding the zone with ****” in order words?
So basically if a couple random dudes tried to assassinate someone while trump was president he would pick a random country and blow it to smithereens. Makes sense. Super rationale, calm, and well thought out plan right there. At least the suggestion that Iran was behind the 2 assassination plots seems to have originated with Trump himself. Therefore, it must be one of his lies:

Because it's absolutely not true?Trump is the only president that waved his presidential salary. Why doesn’t this get talked about?
Stop pissing in his Trump-ios. He likes those Trump-ios, and facts always makes them taste worse.Because it's absolutely not true?
Yes, he donated his salary to various parts of the federal government (Park service, HHS, Transportation, and Veteran's Affairs, I believe, but it may have varied throughout the years.) But JFK and Hoover also refused or donated their salaries, and Obama donated approximately $1.1M of the $3.2M he received over eight years, plus his entire $1.4M he received for the Nobel Peace Prize.
