'hey, this guy is pretty good, let's trade him.' what? it seems whenever a player that isn't our young talent (and sometimes even them) does well, the first thing people say is 'hey, let's trade him to a sucker for someone better'. why not have joe around for the rest of his career? he likes us, we like him, he's good and he's affordable. and he isn't going to stunt anyone's minutes because he's too old to demand major minutes. and in a few years he retires, and whomever he is mentoring takes their place as the new leader. face it guys, we aren't a young team anymore. sure, we have some young players, but they aren't the majority anymore. this team is currently designed to consistently contend for the playoffs, and joe helps with that goal. heywood was good, but he wasn't the main reason we got to the playoffs, it was definitely a team effort, and if players stay uninjured this season, it seems obvious we make it in again, not because of our youth, but because of our seasoned veterans. including joe.
