Hold on, hold on! I need to get my hip waders.
OK, I am ready. If you did not want the job you would have told them no thank you when they set up the second interview. You probably would have contacted your recruiter, you know the professional you are not listening to, and spoken with him about not liking that company and wishing to pursue another firm.
Let's say you did not want that job. Well you just wasted that recruiter and software firms time. That is also unprofessional and adds to your growing bad reputation. I think everyone but you can see the pattern here.
The problem is not them it is you and your attitude. I did not single out your positions on anything, just your attitude.
My attitude. oh.
You know why I don't want the job? Because they dismissed me for such stupid reasons. I didn't know they were going to do that.
I'm not gonna cry because I didn't get some job. When a company pulls these kinds of silly shenanigans, I don't need them.
Some companies act like this but they don't come with warning labels.
And I had enough with the recruiter. I gave him many chances, this is not the first time he has acted unprofessionally and stupidly. It was the last straw.
My reputation in my field is not determined by one company that never saw me face to face and a recruiter.
Recruiters are idiots. They know nothing about my field. All they want is me to get a job that they placed me at so they can make a lot of dough off of my work. When they read my resume, they have no idea what it is about.
Many times they call me and ask me the silliest questions that make me say "can you freaken read?"
I mean, recently, a recruiter called me and asked me to send me my resume. I did. He then wrote back to me and said "You need to tailor your resume for C#. It looks like most of your experience is with VB. Please adjust your resume and send it back"
I about died laughing. All of my past 5 years of experience was with C#. I had not done VB in at least 5 years, and then only minimally. I don't know what he was looking at.
So I sent him my same resume again with no changes and told him that I had done what he asked and he responded with "Much Better"
I mean, how am I supposed to take anyone seriously after that?
I suppose I could explain to you how interviewing works in my field, but it would take too long. Just trust me when I tell you that I know what I am doing. 15 years of experience....get it?
