Jazz and Bulls are in active trade discussions regarding Zach LaVine

The intel was pretty spot on for the draft last year. Right before the draft many had us taking Keyonte (even though he had been dropping) and our interest in Bilal was also talked about and then later confirmed by Zanik.

Yes, there were talks of jazz interest in Collins, but there was never any scuttlebutt about what the trade would actually be until after the trade happened.
I don't think either team knew what the trade would actually be until they both agreed to it...

OK now you’re just being silly. You got a back it up with facts and of course, neither team knew what it would be, but my point is usually when there’s been smoke around the jazz being involved in trades, there has been no fire to back up the case. of course they’re going to come out and say the jazz are interested in a player and that’s going to be true. You can see that about any team in the league. That’s not considered a “leak”.

Jazz interest in Collins was leaked beforehand. Jazz later traded for Collins.

baka98: "BUT THE SPECIFICS OF THE DEAL WEREN'T LEAKED SO THAT MEANS THESE LAVINE RUMORS MUST BE FALSE"
Again, you’re not getting the point. You said the jazz were not being close to the vest in the DA era. I disagreed and I pointed to the Cleveland trade. The Collins trade, yes they talked about us being interested in him. They didn’t say that we were going to trade for him. In any case the Collins trade is a minor trade. The Cleveland trade is a major trade that nobody even heard about until it happened and you say that jazz haven’t been close to the vest?

It had been rumored for years, but were we expecting it a week or two before it went down? I honestly don’t remember.

IMO, the Kings duo of Barnes+Huerter is more appealing than JC+JC. But John Collins only might be the most appealing as it allows them to keep Pat Williams.

A couple of us were literally discussing what a deal would look like minutes before it went down.
You’re right. A lot of us were, but that doesn’t equate to the Jazz not being close lipped about what they’re doing. We knew for years that they wanted John Collins and it happened. I’m just saying that the jazz have been pretty good about keeping secrets when it comes to trades. That’s all.

That is not really evidence that the Jazz were being tight-lipped. By all accounts, that did fall out of the sky.

I agree. IMO it just happened to happen. I just don’t agree with his point of the jazz haven’t been tight when it comes to talking about trades to the media.

I don’t know. I wouldn’t say they’ve got organizational dysentery but I also don’t know that the Jazz have ever been so consistently in the rumor mill and many of the rumors either being corroborated by real sources or coming to fruition.

Another strike is that the Jazz were rumored to be trying to acquire Sexton months before he was acquired.

The aforementioned Collins rumors, as mentioned.

The Lakers trade is reflective of a months-long negotiation where Ainge blinked and taped together something at the last second.

Sexton and LaVine would be incredibly dangerous together
Who’s gonna move the ball when LaVine and Sexton take turns at iso? Boston just showed us what great ball-movment and 3-point shooting can do. And what about defense? LaVine and Sexton can’t defend perimeter. At least one of the starting guards has to be a good defender for us to become a contender. Our defense would keep sucking. If Danny is smart, he won’t bring in anyone who can’t be traded easily if there becomes a need for it. The Bulls tried hard to trade him before the deadline (to up to 15 teams one report said), but no one wanted his bad contract). Idk, if these rumors are true and Danny does this, I’ll join the puke party.

What about Lonzo with LaVine and flipping LaVine to the Lakers in a 3-team trade or something. I believe Lonzo has one year left in his contract. I’m a Lonzo guy and would love this if he can stay healthy.
