Protected 1-10 next three years, then becomes the 2025 2nd.I think it’s lotto protected… or at least top 10.
The Detroit pick is protected 1-18 '23 and '24, 1-13 in '25, 1-11 in '26 and 1-9 in '27, then becomes the '27 2nd round if not conveyed.

It’s not posturing. The Jazz legitimately believe this. If the Jazz trade Mitchell it’s going to be because they get a lot for him. But they do not believe they have to trade him. And they are not planning on an OKC/Orlando Magic kind of rebuild. They will take a dip this year without question. But their intentions aren’t for a prolonged rebuildIt's obvious the Jazz are using Tony to get the message out there that "they don't have to trade Donovan" and "they're comfortable keeping him and re-tooling around him" to try and put pressure on the Knicks to up their offer. It's all just posturing...they have no intention of actually re-tooling the roster around Donovan to try and be competitive, they're fully planning on a re-build.
Like I said we shouldn’t settle. I don’t think the Knicks think we will keep him. If we have to do another season with Mitchell this gives other teams time to prepare strong packages to compete with NY and makes NY that much more desperate. Question is do we try to compete or tank, I feel we could do either. It’s not posturing. The Jazz legitimately believe this. If the Jazz trade Mitchell it’s going to be because they get a lot for him. The Jazz aren’t optimistic that he stays for a third contract but they also know three years in the nba is an eternity. Their position right now is simple. They aren’t gonna trade Mitchell for anything less than what they want. They don’t feel they need to. If the Knicks or anyone else meets their price, they will trade him. If not, they won’t.Thank you for responding. The Jazz may not believe that they have to trade him right now, but they feel they will have to trade him eventually, right? He has 3 years left on his contract and it seems everyone believes that he won't re-sign in Utah... so it seems like it would be absolutely pointless to waste assets to try and re-tool the roster around him when he's not in the long-term plans. I don't doubt that Ainge will hold out until he gets the offer he wants, but I don't believe that he's actually going to try and build a competitive team around Donovan.

I am not disagreeing with you but your comments cause me to question a few things. If they dont want a prolonged rebuild why did they trade Rudy instead of trading Donny for some assets that fill in some gaps? Rudy wanted to be here and still has plenty left in the tank. And if they dont want a prolonged rebuild why are they accumulating picks instead of getting young talent? I can easily see this ending up in an OKC scenario which for me makes no sense when you had two all stars who were still getting better. It’s not posturing. The Jazz legitimately believe this. I think this one is the worst one of the bunch… the others will convey… but protections provide limited upside. And Wizards pick in '23 (1-14), '24 (1-12), '25 (1-10) or '26 (1-8) (then becomes 2 2nds).
They could just go get Tony Bradley I guess… he should be ready to be a poor man’s Lemarcus Aldridge by now right?Jazz should make some more down payments to Spurs and Pacers
The prevailing thought is that the Wolves offer was so good that the Jazz really had no choice but to take it. I think if the Jazz had gotten the same type of offer for Don right out of the box, we would be rebuilding around Rudy.I am not disagreeing with you but your comments cause me to question a few things. I don't think Dallas will be a top 10 team in the regular season this year. In this draft a #17 pick or so would be pretty nice.I think this one is the worst one of the bunch… the others will convey… but protections provide limited upside.

I agree with a lot of this. Why wouldn’t we be more interested in getting RJ if we weren’t doing a full rebuild? Herro is another piece I’d think would be more of a priority. I can see his value ranging wildly though.
Also as Fisher pointed out why aren’t they rounding out the roster… said he’s heard nothing about them trying to make upgrades around Donovan.
They may not want a long rebuild but I have a real hard time believing they rebuild around Donovan. Maybe they keep him but it’s a Plan B scenario and he’d still be very much on the block.
The Jazz traded Rudy because they got a generational return for him. Too good to pass up.I am not disagreeing with you but your comments cause me to question a few things. I do agree with this. Just think if the Jazz were truly genuine about retooling around Don there would be more noise about guys they were going after to fill out the roster. Daniel Theis was one guy I said they should pursue loudly as he is likely very gettable and worst case it sells your story a bit.The Jazz traded Rudy because they got a generational return for him. Maybe they haven’t gotten to the pivot moves yet though… for a number of reasons. Guess time will tell… thanks for coming by and chatting us up.
