I wonder if the Bulls made Boozer's deal a 6 year deal instead of 5 with it being a sign and trade.
A little butt-hurt that myth #2 didn't pan out for you?![]()
If you want to consider packaging Boozer with a draft pick to get a TPE that we will let expire a viable sign-and-trade, then by all means believe so.
I may be mistaken, but I believe the trade exception could be used for a player making up to the value of the TPE. I don't think there is a limitation on a lower priced player. In other words, I think the Jazz could use the trade exception from Boozer for a player making a much lower salary.
If not, then using both the Harp TPE and the Boozer TPE would put them well into LT territory again. I just don't see that happening at this point.

It's a protected 2nd round pick and I highly doubt we let such a valuable TPE simply expire after going through the trouble to get it.
...or a team in financial trouble looking to dump some salary. We would have to think about this logically: Who are we going to obtain? A TPE of that size could only be used for a team trying to unload someone they don't want. If the other team doesn't like their salary, what are the odds we would? Let's talk names.

Teams failing financially, and clearing space. We would have to think about this logically: Who are we going to obtain? Who?
