Jazz Just Signed Trevor Booker According To Woj

2 years $10 M... Not sure he's better than Jeremy.

Supposedly Milwaukee is shopping Illyasova hard. He has 2 years and 16 M left on his deal. I think I'd rather have him than Novak and Booker.

This ones a little surprising to me. Maybe second year is team option?

wasn't novak and evans our backups at 4?

Do you feel comfortable playing Novak and Evans major minutes in the scenario of injuries to Gobert/Favors/Kanter?

Booker is a guy who can start if needed and not get outmatched physically by starting NBA bigs. The same can't be said for Evans/Novak.

Jazz Sign PF Trevor Booker according to Yahoo Sports.

Deal is 2 year 10 million guys. Your thoughts? 5 mil per year for a "nasty" energic rebounder?

@richgates So sorry man, didn't see your topic on mobile

Trevor Booker is a great signing, Now I'm not pissed about the Jarnell Stokes trade. Hes very nasty and tenacious, He always plays with a mean streak and also has great hands defensively for a forward.

He will also run the floor in transition, rebound and throw down plenty of thunderous dunks.

I don't get this at all. I know we need bench guys but why at that rate and for two years when re-signing Burks and Kanter are on the table next summer.

This. Unless there's a team option for year two, this is a bad deal. Don't screw up your flexibility for backup players. The Rockets tried this crap and it burned them.

Maybe this a move to challenge Kanter even to the point that if Kanter continues being a lazy pos on defense and a black hole on offense, Quin will sit him and let Booker start.

If we're going down that road, I'd rather trade draft picks for Kenneth Faried. Think the Manimal would be a beast next to Favors.

Thread can be merged with the earlier one if possible. Didn't see it at first.

Don't like it. I'm fine with Novak for two years, but the Jazz have a better asset in Tomic and they have tons of picks the next few years. Don't seem to have a hard time filling out the roster. Wish they'd just kept Stokes for that kind of coin.

How could you possibly know what Tomic is capable of. Plus, bringing him over would be much more expensive and risky than this signing. The Tomic and, to lesser degree, Neto hyperbole needs to be tempered around here. Neither player has proven ****.

We need to make very calculated risks from here on out. If Exum and Roscoe pan out it's even more important to stay flexible over the next 4 years.

This signing could very well hurt that flexibility next summer.

I really think we can challenge for the playoffs now.

We have great depth and great talent. If Kanter/Favors make leaps, we will be in the playoff hunt.

i actually don't mind this signing, he seems a solid guy

i just don't see the rotation when everyone is healthy
