Jazz May Be A Part of 3-Team Deal w/ Clippers

Let's try to get this absurd George Hill nuclear level tangent back to reality:

If the Jazz could've traded Harris for no salary back and the 15th pick, does ANYONE truly believe the Jazz declined?

But that couldn't have been the deal. The problem is whatever the Jazz would have to take back and I can think of many, many scenarios where the Jazz decline.

Anyways, general consensus of what it will take for this deal to happen?

What do you need in addition to Williams to take this? Just Williams? A contingent trade with Harris? An additional 2nd? An additional 1st?

So if I am Mo and Bartlestien, why don't I just tell the Jazz we'll opt in if you give us a 2 year 12 million extension?

Why wouldn't the jazz just wait for Mo to become a FA?

I can see an incentive for the jazz (the dallas pick or a LAC pick) but does Mo want to go to a non-contendor for 1 year?

Because the Jazz won't do that. Williams has to decide if he wants to secure a long term deal for whatever he can get, or play for Utah for a year.

I don't think he can really hurt his value that much in Utah, other than a major injury. If Big Al is still in Utah, Williams could have a career 3pt shooting with the double teams Al gets in the post, which could help his value for his next contract.

Overall I think he ends up agreeing to opt in to his contract and come to Utah.

Agreed. Since it's highly unlikely he gets more than 10mil/2 years, I think he will almost certainly figure this is a pretty good option.

Spence Checketts on 1280 said a few minutes ago that there is some speculation that instead of the jazz giving Dallas the trade exception, they might replace that with Devin Harris. I am not sure I buy that though. I think Dallas's intentions are 2-fold, get rid of Odom and to clear space to bid for DWill. If they get Harris instead, they achieve only 1 of their 2 goals.

Dallas taking Harris in THIS deal makes absolutely no sense. If they don't get Deron, then maybe they take Harris off the Jazz's hands at a later date (if he's still here).

Locke was on earlier saying that the Harris to Dallas option had been discussed, but Dallas still thinks it can get Deron so it was pulled.
