What's new

Jazz Offseason Plan

Yeah, my favorite was Wade Baldwin at 17

Or Jarrell Martin at 25 the year before that.

Or JOrdan Adams the year before that.

It's only been recent and anyone can have a hot streak. Most of their picks have been obvious grabs for their big wins. Yet to do anything nearly as impressive as DL (who you will relentlessly bash).
Yeah I wonder what happened in between now and then… could they have gotten a whole new ****ing front office?

I expect this reaching from others but yeeeeesh guy.

Also, could be a win for both teams. Doesnt have to be one team having an obvious win/lose thing.

But at the end of teh day I find it pretty hard to believe anyone would rather be in the position Memphis is in compared to the one NOLA is in.
Believe it bish. You come over to this side as soon as you wake up.

I love that this is the hill @LoPo and @Saint Cy of JFC are joining forces to die on. I don’t know if it’s a win for
Memphis but it’s gonna be a loss for NOLA for sure.

I'm not going to do a deep dive into their FO personnel before I slander.

Also, teh JJJ pick was a fail. They could have been the team that traded up to get Luka if they wanted.

This is a win for Memphis. JV was not a long term piece for them. I respect the hell out of them for not falling in love with recent success. That draft capital is significant. They had a need to consolidate. And they have plenty of talent/potential behind JV (and his expiring contract)

IDK about dying on a hill, I'd just rather be the team that has the better players, a generational talent, and has more cap-room.

Plus, the Pelicans could actually out-draft the Grizzlies at 17 vs 10. So the whole reason you think this is a huge win for Memphis might not even play out the way you think. They still have to actually nail the pick. Im going to laugh when the Grizzlies grab someone like Kuminga and he turns out to be a huge bust.

It isn’t hard… the Conley deal was when the group changed over… it’s part of the reason they couldn’t do the deal a year early. Ain’t no deep dive.

They know where they are in the process… does NO?

I do think it's weird that Lopo is on the NOLA side of the trade though since he fetishizes draft potential and pushing the day of reckoning back as far as possible.

Mean one generational talent got his team to the playoffs… I think it’s fair to say Ja is a generational talent too.
It’s all about odds at 17 vs 10… it’s fun to say they could out draft them… but when you look at actual history in recent drafts you realize the actual chances of that are small… I could beat Steph in a 3 point shootout but it’s not likely ya know. We could out draft them at 30… that cap space could be Kawhi Leonard… but odds are it’s Spencer Dinwiddie and Nic Batum.

It’s why I said if we did it he’d be spitting fire. We did a much more sound version of this deal and he still talks with his therapist weekly about how dumb the Conley deal was. NO can only dream of this deal working out so well.

Meh, I dont think Ja is a generational talent at all. The Grizzlies got to the playoffs on the backs of multiple players, and a huge one of those was JV. Let's see what happens to Memphis now that they lost a huge part of their identity, if JJJ can actually pan out, and if Dillion Brooks can actually have a complete season.

Meh… let’s see if Jaxon Hayes and NAW are good and if Zion can stay healthy or become any version of competent as a defensive players.

Homeboy gave us 30/8 in the playoffs at the age of 21 and Cy gonna give that a meh. K.

Im just mehing at him being a generational talent. I think you're just throwing that term around. He isnt near Zion's level. Ja is more of a guy on Donovan's talent level. I see no real potential for him being a top 5 NBA player year in/year out like I do Zion.

At the end of the day, talent is the key and Zion has the most talent and now they can pair that talent with good veteran help. I think they have much better odds of achieving playoff success over the next 4 years than Memphis does.

Back in the day Vlade gave an unprotected pick(it may have had light protections) and a pick swap for the ability to move a couple bad contracts into Phillys space when he could have just done a waive and stretch to get the same amount of space… FA was open and Iggy was basically saying he was coming… then GS opened up space with our help and he bolted. NO just did a redo of that deal. Lowry is said to be the target… he will now leverage them to get the long term deal he wants in Miami or Philly or NY… but have fun with those big two year deals on Rajon Rondo and Kosta Koufos.

Meh I ain’t here for this straw man… we talking about the other trade… which you have quickly decided to move away from.

I said what I said about it. I'm not putting that much analytical energy into it as I would a Jazz trade. I'll take NOLA's side because it made them a better team today and set them up for better future success. And yes, that all depends on the finishing touch moves. They could easily botch them.
