What's new

Jazz players at the World Cup

i love how neto drives and kicks. he is a true PG

I hate to admit this because I know I'll be flamed but for me, with what I see as obvious limited potential (height and athleticism) for Burke and such rawness in Exum, I'd love the Jazz to just say **** it, bring Neto over, and hand him the keys to start.

I also know this is beyond absurd though. A man can wish though, can't he?

I would be down with that. seems to be a true pass first point guard

Considering he signed a 3 year deal with Murcia, now I believe we won't see Neto in a Jazz uniform for at least two more seasons. I don't know what kind of NBA buy-out he has in his contract but I think he wouldn't sign a three year if he didn't want to stay at least two years in ACB. I also think that he might have considered the fact that the Jazz drafted Exum when he was signing that contract. But like I said before, he will continue to play in the second best league in the world and that is just perfect from the Jazz perspective for the Draft&Stash strategy. So it doesn't matter much.

Plus, if you guys like Neto that much, there is another player that you would also like because he is an Up-and-coming player who is almost identical to Neto except that he is actually a little bit better at almost everything than Neto is. He is slightly taller, slightly stronger, slightly better passer, slightly better ball handler, slightly faster etcetera. He is not as handsome as Neto though.

He is still only 18 years old, the below video is from a Euroleague game. I would really want the Jazz to draft him if we don't bring in Neto ever.

Neto looks solid. But he has some flaws and limitations that I don't think will allow him to ever be the starting PG for a good team. I think he can be a great second option for the Jazz.
Also, more on bringing him back - he just signed 3 year deal in Spain a month ago after spending time training with the Utah Jazz staff in Utah, this summer. I think there is a reason for that string of events unraveling like that. I think Utah has no intention on bringing him anytime soon. I think they are keeping him as a possibility for when Burke's contract runs out and he asks for more money than we are willing to give a back up PG.
Also, this.

I say bring him over and let all 3 of them compete and develop. Make them push and challenge each other. Like that scene from the Dark Knight where the Joker makes the three guys fight for 1 spot. How bad do they want it?

I want to make sure that I understand what you're saying. You want the Jazz to draft Berk? So then they would have (potentially) Trey Burke, Alec Burks and Berk Ugurlu. Is that right?

Hayward is just below average to just above average in everything he does, he has no elite skills. On teams like this you need to excel at something as everyone needs to play to their strengths. You either have to be a good shooter, good rebounder, good at running the play and setting up teammates, good shot blocker, good at driving and drawing fouls, or defensive specialist. Just my opinion.

haygoat is great at getting overpaid. when he says show me da money? you show him da money

Yeah, I know. I was just dreaming.

3 games tomorrow:
Brazil vs Slovenia at 2:05 pm ET
Australia vs Finland at 2:30pm ET
USA vs Puerto Rico at 7pm ET

They seem in good spirits despite all being on the chopping block.

Are we ever going to find out who made the roster?

Cuts are supposed to be made Saturday morning, but it may not be all the way to 12. They actually have until day before tournament to submit the 12 man roster. With Rose and Cousins injuries they may carry 14 up until then.

To be serious, this.

Most teams will wait untill the last day to submit their final 12 rosters.

After being around the team this week, seems like Lillard, Drummond, Hayward will likely be the first three cuts.

Does Parsons making the team over Hayward mean Parsons > Hayward, at least in Coach K's eyes? If so, that hurts.

But honestly we should probably be more upset Plumlee might actually make the 12 man roster over Favors even getting an invite.

To be honest I am not. Jazz are always over looked and I prefer it that way. Everyone ignores us and discounts us until we beat them. Then they melt. the. hell. down.

One of my favorite things about the last few seasons is consistently beating the Miami Heat (I think we were 4-3, one of the only teams if not the only team with a winning record against the big 3 Heat) and there consistently being a melt down in Miami and on ESPN with "What's wrong with the Heat?" headlines.
