Jazz Sign Ekpe Udoh

wtf? no, it's $100.7 mil. How did you get that result?

edit...:
Squad (-) Diaw = $75,124,667
(+)Ingles, Sef, JJ, Udoh = $25,600,000
Total = $100,724,667

Ingles is still at a cap hold of just over $4m. I double counted some of Ingles' money. I get $109m in total payroll. I'll double check my math.

Because, despite the current truisms, Favors is our starting PF and will play 28-30 minutes, and we don't have a backup center.

I would lean against there being a big trade.

This. Favors has said himself he's PF. He will be happier if his minutes come as PF.

Indeed i like the Udoh move more than Jerebko or Sefolosha.
Udoh matured his game a lot in the recent years. He wont be as effective or dominant as in europe, but he will address one of our biggest problems last year. When Gobert is off the court, we couldnt put our real identity on the court. Our defensive resistance was going down by half. Now we have a very good backup for our best player. We will be ok when he is on the bench, or injured for a few games.

Now the big question;
Are those moves a signal, or the silence before the storm?
A big trade might be on the way including Favors Diaw and even Burks...
I would call Lindsey a genius, if he makes the team even better after losing our best player.

Then who is starting at PF? These moves were done to shore up to roster... not to presage some big trade. I think we're done.
Maybe the dude favors gets traded for? Maybe even JJ

I am impressed he learned to pass. Always was a good shot blocker but improved passing and scoring is welcome bonus.

We should unload Burks salary if we are gonna make a trade. Move Diaw, Favors and Burks for Love?
That Works for me.
Doesn't work for lebron doe

Idk why y'all think Favs will start.

Quin clearly doesn't like playing him and Gobert together.
I think when favors and gobert have both been healthy at the same time they have started like every game together though.

A trade has to be coming in the next few days I would assume.

Gobert/Udoh/Bradley
Favors/Joe Jesus/Jerebko/Bolomboy
Jingles/Sefolosha
Hood/Mitchell/Burks
Rubio/Exum

That's 14.

I expect Neto to be back. That's 15.
I expect them to keep NWG. That's 16.
They have interest in Eric Griffin. That's 17. But Griffin seems redundant with Jerebko and Bolomboy on the roster.

Overall the roster is feeling exceptionally crowded right now.
Bolomboy? Nah Keep NWG? Why?

We should unload Burks salary if we are gonna make a trade. Move Diaw, Favors and Burks for Love?
That Works for me.
Of course it does.

I am impressed he learned to pass. Always was a good shot blocker but improved passing and scoring is welcome bonus.

Yes, his passing has significantly improved. He's a much better player now.
I'm a homer yes but working with the best head coach in the world does wonders, you know.

Finally, I like this addition. Clearly, after watching Bradley play he needs a lot of playing time in the G-league first cuz he is still very raw and is need of experience. Udoh I've been a fan secretly for some time before he got drafted. lol

It was pleasure to see him play live. I've never seen many players who are also liked and respected by rivals' fans.
Some of his thoughts were censored by the government. (He said he adored Ataturk, a person who Erdogan wants us to forget)

He was the most impactful player in europe for the last 2 seasons.

People are mad at him because earlier last season he stated he wanted to play for Fenerbahçe till his retirment.
Also, Fener offered him a 3 year 11-12 million dollar contract. He rejected and signed 2 year 6.5 million dollars and a limited role.
Really Interesting decision by Ekpe.

Though he played for only 2 seasons, he will be remembered as a true legend here.

What percentage of Favors production do you think Ekpe could provide? 40%? 50%?

Seems like Favors value before injury was high due to his ability to switch defensively and being a versatile PNR man. From all accounts from his time in Euroleague, Ekpe seems to provide a lot of that.

Doesn't really make sense to cut Bolomboy. The Jazz invested a year in development for him and he is cheap. You can't have a roster full of solid vets at the end of your bench.
Sounds like a guy who won't break up with a girlfriend cause you already spent a year with her.
