What's new

Jazz square off against them Indiana boys on an Indiana night -- Jazz @ Pacers 3/7/2018 5:00 pm MST

He is a starter on the team that gets the most media attention in the NBA. I would say there is way more pressure on him now.
It's an apples/oranges thing. It's not as much on HIM. All that's asked or expected of him is to hit open shots and be a 3rd or 4th option.

Anyway, I'm done talking about Hood. I just think he was a total weenie and it drove me nuts. I'm happy he's gone.

You obviously have a vested interest in your boy, and you'll find or make up whatever you want to suit your narrative.

Hood's never been a good defender, mediocre vision/passing at best, and softer than his own ****. He could get hot (overwhelmingly against bad competition), but had as many okay games as he did total **** ones.
Not being a good defender =/= being a liability

One last thing: booing your own player is just ****ed and stupid, but at the same time, he deserved them. The Hood-version of the Jazz got embarrassed at home against the Pacers and that's when Hood's time here hit rock bottom. The contrast between that Jazz team and this one is stunning. It isn't a coincidence, either.

None of that made sense.

The Jazz going from being bad in December to go in late January/February had nothing to do, positively or negatively, with Hood. It was all centered around Gobert.

Its just dumb playing guys big minutes in a blowout win.

DM had turnovers tonight, he just looked a little fatigued.

Also should be giving the bench some burn just in case there needed at some point.

Yea what was the go with that? Taking them out with about 90 seconds left in a 20 point win???

This team is on its way to being the most loved team ever. All these guys stories, personalities, and effort is great right now. The stark difference in a Gobert and Mitchell are the exact personalities you need leading a team going forward. Gobert has the all business attitude with an attitude he’s the best player on the court and that he’s never satisfied. I don’t think I’ve ever felt like he was happy with a big win. Donovan is very vocal, a great team guy, always cheering, always positive, and shows some serious emotion at times.

I really hope this team makes the playoffs. The future is bright.....and Rudy is absolutly amazing.

He was never some big liability. He was just a guy who would occasionally get beat defensively. This year was an anomaly because he played about 1/6th of his total minutes with Gobert. He actually played w/ Joe Johnson more this year than with Gobert, which really hurt his defensive rating.
Well, Johnson's defensive rating was brought down because he was playing a lot of minutes with Hood, and his defensive TPA was still a lot better. Hood's defense metric was the worst on the team, by a lot, and he didn't play a ton of minutes, so that's not an influencing force.

As Rubio goes so go the Jazz.

If he is hitting that shot we are tough to beat. Imagine if he was an elite finisher (not dunking, but just could make the majority of his drives).

He's really put in hard work, and become a key part of this core. I know that I was starting to give up on him in December. Glad hes completely turned it around.

9/10 times he shoots as soon as he catches and there is 14 seconds left on the clock. Thats not good basketball. Im sure he'll get better though.

My friend who is a Boston fan recently commented on Jae.

"Love him as a player, and what he brings. Only negative is that he shoots too much"
