Jazz vs Clippers: Round 2

Here is a quote from Bleak Griffin, I think I typed it right, you can check the original here.

After the game, Griffin was asked if it was difficult to keep things from escalating. Standing behind Chris Paul, and wiping tears from his eyes Griffin stammered, “I was going to (take things further), and I thought, ‘It’s preseason. It’s not worth it. That’s not the person I’m going to waste it on."

He looked like he was ready to kiss Booker for a second there.

Wish I could see Booker and Griffin go at it in a back Alley. Griffin acts so tough on the court (when he's not busy whining like a little girl). Don't get me wrong. I wouldn't want to meat up with him in a back alley. He's got 10 inches and 60 lbs on me, but I think Booker would tear him apart.

dude, nobody is tearing anybody apart. at the end of the day they are grown man. usually whoever gets hit will get KTFO. it's silly that we bash griffin for not standing up for himself, but when he does we call him a sissy. i'm just being real.

Lol this is why players don't want to come off the bench because fans like you have this mindset that coming off the bench means you aren't good enough to be a starter.

I think most players just want to start.

When i played basketball all throughout my childhood and into my 20's everyone that i ever played with (myself included) wanted to start...... and we didn't even have any fans to influence our desire to start.
Starting > not starting in almost every players eyes....... in any sport at any level

Great game by everyone. But--long term--it was the flashes out of Exum that are really exciting. Watching him in the first half it was just like... yeah, this kid's got it. I don't know how long it's gong to take, but he's going to be a star.

Agreed.
exum seems to be learning very quickly and looks nothing like the guy i saw in SL and the scrimmages.

I'm not bashing him for not standing up for himself. I'm bashing him for being a whiny little girl on the court the rest of the time.

That is 99,99% right. But there always is that other chance.

his fake tough persona is kinda silly, but put yourself in his shoe. dude gets hacked more than i've ever seen since shaq. and he got that bad rep not being tough, so players want to test him. i'm sure all PFs NBA get up to play griffin.

but if he started swinging punches then it would look 100000 times worse for him. it's better to be fake tough than be a thug for me. with all those endorsements he better behave, lol.

i get that, but in NBA, 6th man plays a critical role. and IMO, manu and unselfish spurs kinda took this whole 6th man to a next level. and some players are better to play with twos and play 25-30 min instead of 35-40 min. Manu is great example. manu is so much better when he is fresh.

I know it's only pre-season, but I love how this roster is willing to fight. If they keep that, they will be better than any "expert" thought they would be.

This is going to be a fun season.

I think Booker is just a little bit tougher than Lucas. :D

This may also be an argument for keeping Jones. Need a couple of guys who aren't going to back away and shadow box.

Cooley doesn't shoot 3's so it was definitely Motum.

It was pretty impressive. I know it was just shoot-around but he wasn't missing. I think there's a chance one of the two makes the team - wish we had more time to watch them play but I'm sure DL has a much better idea.

I think Jones is gone - he had some good moments VS. the Lakers but sucked last night.

And regarding Griffin it was hilarious - the fans sitting around me were so offended Booker pushed their golden cow-child. I doubt most of them even know the NBA team Trevor Booker played for last season.

Sixth man is usually more important than the 5th starter. That's why the league has an award. Manu is just one great 6th man. There have been many others. For example, Corey Maggette was an amazing scorer off the bench.
