What's new

Jazz vs Mavericks | Friday December 3rd @ 8:30pm

Oh god we have bricked way too many shots. This game is out of reach boyz

Sorry all, but I simply cannot stand Fesenko. IMO he is by far the worst player on the team, and if he wasn't 7 feet tall and nearly 300lbs he wouldn't even be in the league. It's going to take more than a few rebounds and some out of control hook shots to convince me that he deserves significant minutes. But I guess for some that it's a bleeping party if he does anything significant, so I can understand.
Well that player that you can't stand is leading the Jazz in rebounds right now in less than half the minutes of the frontcourt.

I'm not going to dignify your post with any further commentary.

I think Utah has packed it in. The Jazz can't win if they don't care.
Bad decision by Sloan not to sit down Deron at the beginning of Q4.

Utah has the personnel to beat Dallas, but it requires matchup acuity, which was not executed effectively by the coaching staff.

How to beat Terry: Let Price at him. Sloan's approach: Put Deron on him, which worked OK until he got tired, and that hurt the team.
How to slow Nowitzki: Let height at him. Even some Fesenko. One or two hard fouls and watch him whimper all the way back to Germany.
How to beat Kidd: Keep Deron fresh. Watson can handle him.
How to beat Haywood: Put some height on him.
How to control the paint: Use more height.

seriously counted 10 layups missed and 5 airballs by the jazz.... i thought they got past this.

Is it Sloan's fault no one can't hit a free throw? Every player on the team looked a step behind tonight. Dallas might actually be a good team, go figure. Very excited to see the next time we play them. It will be a different story.

Not one jazzman played well tonight. Total domination by Mavs. I thought they really lost this one when they decided to walk the ball up the court in the 2nd half. Best D on Jazz all year especially on Deron. He was frustrated all night. He was about to knock barea out with a right cross.

Paul can't make free throws or finish near the rim. Same goes with Jefferson and finishing around the rim. Deron has a very poor 2nd half and that's it folks. This is a tough game to stomach after I thought we played pretty well in the 1st half. The defensive performance in the 2nd half was a joke. After their little celebration at half court there should have been a hard foul on one of them going to the basket. JMO. Not a good night.

Utah's FT% was not great, but it was higher than Dallas's. This loss was due too poor in-game management (or lack thereof), leading to a lot of easy shots by the Mavs. Sloan stuck with his guys (who hadn't done particularly well in the first half) down the stretch, and he didn't even stick with the 2nd unit, playing little of Price + Watson. Also, Fes + Elson started working, and he didn't go back to it. Players can always play better, but they need some direction.

Definitely props to Dallas on this one. Their defense was superb, and we just didn't respond. Combine that with a poor game by Deron et al and this is what you get. Looking forward to seeing how we bounce back. Look for Deron to come out swinging next game.

Typical Jazz idiot, a loss is always Sloan's fault isn't it. Give me a break already. Let me guess, Fes should have gotten more minutes right? The dude is good for about 6-8 miutes a game and that's it. I watched this game and not one player played well. Sloan has nothing to do with Paul's lazy defense on Dirk or AK's pathetic show against Butler, not to mention Deron forgetting Kidd can shoot again especially in the first half. AJ's shot tonight was a joke, put the ball down already big man! Either way, they're gonna have a few like this every year and believe it or not, it's not all Sloan! Circle your calendars for December 11th, that's when we'll get them back.

(Hey, not right to change your post after I've responded, I will now remove the word "idiot" from my post) :)

That was brutal to watch. That may have been Dwills worst game in a couple years. O well we will bounce back strong.

- I thought the Jazz could not get over 60 points against Dallas' tough, well-prepared zone D. The Jazz obviously payed the price of not having outside threats and overfocusing on helping the man who defends the dribbler.
- IMO, Coach Sloan was outcoached by Carslie. Everybody from Deron to Fes looked out of any rhythm offensively, credit to Mavs, and the exact reason why one of league's best scorers had a field day was overhelping inside. That's coach's decision and he did not make adjustments untill the 4th quarter. It was too late.
- The Jazz have played very well defensively. The lack of size and length in frontcourt was too much to overcome against athletic and long defenders of Mavs. I wish we had Memo in this game. The Mavs could pretty much go with zone as much as they wanted. BigAl and Paul became jumpshooters. I would prefer Okur taking that shoots and present a constant threat to punish Mavs' coward zone defense which could also diminish the effect of double teams Paul and BigAl got during this game.
- There have been two statement home games that the Jazz lost. We are still not at the level of Spurs, DAllas and Lakers, IMO but this team will continue to improve, I look forward to seeing how team will respond in Memphis game. I hope, we will start another winning streak by winning remaining home games.

Why did the Jazz get their **** pushed in? Didn't defend Kidd, didn't fight through screens, gambled off of Nowitski (HOW???), Nowitski became unstoppable, Fesenko mysteriously could not get back in the game (I'm not a Fesenko homer), couldn't hit free throws, Jefferson is soft as a damn pillow and refuses to use glass (WHY???), and the Jazz couldn't overcome stifling interior D because the refs were jobbing the Jazz and they can't shoot their way out of the problem. Also, Deron couldn't buy a shot while AK and Bell didn't show up.

But let's look at the good; Hayward's PER must've been off the damn charts, Watson looked alive, Fesenko was awesome (how did he not play more?), took care of the ball considering Dallas' D, and most notably outrebounded Dallas.

All in all, an embarrassing game. Despite knowing better, it feels like when there's a huge game in the regular season, the Jazz get embarrassed. Even though last week they beat the Lakers. Maybe I just need to make sure I don't watch the big games because I'm bad luck or something.
