Jazz VS Spurs @ 8:30 on Root Sports, ESPN 1280 AM/ 97.5 FM

.

Boris freaking Diaw works the Jazz. How does Corbin game plan to work him and Duncan both off the floor? Pound inside with Kanter then Big Al then Kanter then Big Al to get people in foul trouble?

The Spurs are a well-oiled machine, but no team is immune to this. Last year, I made impassioned calls for a game plan specifically designed to draw fouls and break Pop's substituting machine. Make him play combinations of players that aren't optimal. The only way to do this is to pound for the sake of drawing fouls and relentlessly screen their wings.

This is the biggest test we've had this season.

We've played well the past few games, but didn't face a team that was playing well.
We are at home, have Favors back, and should be feeling pretty good about ourselves.

Will we come back down to reality tonight? I sure hope not

Outside another excellent shooting game, this is really the only thing I see weakening the Spurs significantly. I would consider starting Kanter just to wear the hell out of Duncan, then bring in Jefferson to continue the punishment.

The problem as always will be controlling their transition offense from countering this and running away with the game before any benefit is gained. Spurs are too good at doubling and tripling down low and causing turnovers. I think my starting five would be Jefferson, Favors, JYD, Foye, Mo to balance defense and scoring, then flip Kanter in at the 9-10 minute mark if things are going well. Foye and Mo keep their D honest and open up the inside block. Let's see how KOC addressing this exact concern works out tonight.

I'm also looking for Tinsley to keep their 2nd unit on their heels. That guy is an unreal play maker this season.

Do you remember what happened last post-season against their starters? Jefferson was the only player who could score.

I'm thinking a little Jefferson filled Dutch happened and Dutch isn't to happy about it.

ok.

but 3/4 of spurs point where scored on jeffersons amazing pick and roll defense. so unless jefferson was avg 75 points a game. he was useless

Predictions for the game tonight:
Jazz win by 5
Manu scores 30+
Marvin, Mo, and Foye each hit two 3s
Hayward and Milsap score 20+
Spurs execute well on offense but shooting percentage is below 45% while Jazz shoot over 60%

plan on seeing a lot of rage posts from me come game time.

Al needs a new nickname.

I propose Disco. Al's style has a lot of boogie woogie oogie to it, compared to Kanter's mosh pit approach.

Also, when the mob assembles before, during, and after every game, plus off days, there's a great slogan to chant. Mobs need a slogan.

DISCO FEVER!! (for supporters)
