What's new

Joe Johnson Coming to Utah

Joe's offensive game seems to age well Rodney definitely has a similar game if he stays healthy you can expect consistent long term production.

Im on board with this signing. Thank you Mr. Lindsey for putting in work...much appreciated.

Looks like jj is probably the better scorer. (I figured as much)
I feel that affalo is the better player though. (Always seemed to be a good defender)
It's close though

You didn't watch him play with the Knicks then.

Completely trash on team-defence, to the point of liability.

Plus Joe can play the 2, 3, or 4. More experienced, better passer. About a wash in terms of offence.

I prefer Joe. Although Afflalo got a fantastic contract from the perspective of Kings fans (2nd year non guaranteed).

I prefer JJ over Afflalo for the Jazz. It's a better fit imo. He provides more experience, better shooting, and he's much better in Iso situations (which the Jazz could desperately use). I'm glad they picked up JJ.

I've struggled with Neto/Mack decision but I'm starting to lean towards keeping Neto. Let Mack and Burke bounce. And for the love of god do whatever it takes to get Bolomboy on the active roster. He's my new obsession.

I like the idea of keeping Mack and Neto. Both are on cheap contracts and have shown value. I don't see a reason to cut either one unless one of them becomes an issue off the court in regards to playing time. In which case you have a good trade chip at the deadline.

Normally, I would agree with keeping both. However, we have so many guys who can bring the ball up aside from Exum and Hill, I kinda think it's reckless to keep 4 PG's and sacrifice a roster spot for more front court depth.

Yeah I can see your point. But I think we could add front court depth and still keep all four PG's. Maybe something like...

Exum/Hill/Mack/Neto
Hood/Burks
Hayward/J Johnson/Ingles
Favors/Lyles/Bolomboy
Gobert/Veteran UFA or pickup via trade/Either Withey or Pleiss

What? Doesn't the league and media refer to Mr. Johnson as Iso Joe?

I too agree on both points. Neto came in as a rookie, shot 40% from three and was a pest on D. Keep that guy around.

I'm hoping Bolomboy's upcoming dominance in SL is just the first phase of him becoming the biggest steal of the draft. That at age 22, with a NBA body and elite athleticism, he's the ideal 4th or 5th big on this team.

Locke said JJ is a 3/4 now. So he fits better than Aflalo.

SG: Hood, Burks, Hill, Exum
SF: Hayward, JJ, Hood, Ingles
PF: Favors, Lyles, JJ, Hayward

15 players
Hill, Exum, Mack, Neto (4)
Hayward, Hood, Burks, Johnson, Ingles (5)
Gobert, Favors, Lyles, Withey, Pleiss, Bolomboy (6)

I think Bolomboy might get signed elsewhere unless they keep him on the roster.

They'll sign him just put him in D league

Thing is yall act like your the main rivals to the laker sand they don't recognize you. I heard a lot of Lakers fan in SLC too. Crap I see the jerseys when Lakers are playing in SLC...

Yep, we aren't the main rivals for the Lakers right now. That would be the 76ers and Kings, as rivals for the title of crappiest team in the league. Someday when the Lakers don't suck anymore, then maybe they can be considered our rivals, but they're going to have to earn it. Nobody gives a **** how good they were 10 years ago.

Lmao yup. In today's social media age the allure of LA is much less. You can be a star anywhere in today's NBA.

Liking the off-season the Jazz are putting together so far. They clearly aren't done either, I'm expecting another trade to pick up some depth/future assets to come down in the next few weeks.

One things for sure, this is definitely a nice change of pace from sitting out every year and watching and wondering what could have been.
