What's new

KD to GSW... I hate those guys

New Vegas odds came out

OKC is is favored to be better then JaZZ STill

Jazz are tied with Houston at 200 to 1 odds to win it all and they are teams 21 and team 22 total..
So Vegas has Utah at around 20th best team in nba, But wait this cannot be true because from reading around here I thought Utah was a team that was going be around 10-15th bets of all bball...
So reality is the Experts and most media will aknowledge Jazz have some good young pieces but they are still not a playoff team..
Also don't give me that crap Vegas doesn't know, Truth is no one knows at this moment and it is why they play the game but these guys do it for a living so they carry more weight then some Hoped up Jazz fan on Jazzfanz.

Doesn't Vegas set the lines though, not on what they think will be the end result, but on how they think people will bet? That being the case, most everyone outside of Utah will underestimate the Jazz.

This warriors team is 140-20 in the last two seasons combined, and they just signed the last MVP not named Steph Curry. What the hell

Yes Vegas agrees with you that your team is special.. Your one spot above the nuggets and if the nuggets get Wade then they will be leapfrogging the sorry Jazz

If your mom will forward you some of your allowance I'd be more than happy to make a bet with you.

Of course the money would need to be placed in escrow (feel free to look that term up) for me to commit.

is this some kind of Rip at Phil Jackson?

No, the idea I was responding to was that Malone may not fit in the triangle offense. My belief is that Phil or any coach with a brain would adjust their offense to make it fit one of the best PFs of all time if they were gifted that player on their team.

So, Jordan would never have left the Bulls in the 80's to join the Celtics or Pistons because he couldn't beat them in the playoffs. That's what I love about Jordan. I feel like Durant is taking an easy road and setting a reasonably subversive precedent.

How would Jordan or anybody form superteams back in the day with CBA they had? Their werent maximum contracts back then. Jordan to this day still holds the record for the highest salary ever at 33 million per year, and the cap was 26 million. The rules just allowed them to pay him because you could pay your own players what you wanted to keep them. No one could have joined that team for any kind of decent money even if they wanted too, and Jordan wasnt going to join any other teams because they all faced the same restrictions, and he was the best player. The fact that they didnt have max contracts made it very hard if not impossible for superstars to team up. Now they can.

Today, players face a whole new set of rules. Superteams can be formed much easier. The Celtics did it, then Lebron did it. KD didnt set the precedent. This is just the landscape of the NBA, and this is how you win championships now. Players are on the move to greener pastures all the time now.

People just mad because Durant did it better than everyone else.

I understand the point your making, and it is a valid point, but I'm just saying, I don't think Jordan would have ever left the Bulls to go to the team that just set the record for most wins in a season, and just beat him in a 7 game playoff series. I don't think for 1 second he'd have done that had he had the chance. Jordan wanted to beat the best, not join them. That's one of the reasons he was the best.

It's completely different. There were never any guarantees in Miami like people acted there were. They went there to build something new and nobody knows how team chemistry, fit of support players, etc. are going to work out. Joining a championship team that just set a league record for most wins in a season is a different animal altogether. Durant could sit out the season altogether and still end up with a ring. It's not even close to the same thing.

They just set the record for the most wins, but clearly had a weakness with not having a legit 3rd shooter to clear up space for Steph and Klay. If Barnes wasnt complete ***, they would have won. So they werent the perfect team. They didnt just roll through the playoffs. They had their troubles. Its not like Durant wont help them. They could certainly use his help. Now you cant double enough to stop them. This will make life a lot easier for both Steph and Klay. I dont agree with the premise that KD could just ride the pine all year long and collect a ring. GS is surely a favorite to win it withoit Durant, but not a guarantee.

I dont think there is any shame in what he is doing. He could parlay this move into a fist full or more of rings. With OKC, its maybe 1 or 2 tops, maybe none. His legacy will look a lot better with a ton of rings than just one or something regardless of the circumstances. The same goes for Golden State. They were only probabaly gonna collect a few of their own. Now they too can cash in on a fist full of rings if it plays out like it should.

Its idiotic to suggest Durant should concern himself with how super his superteam looks and if too good, and if its not fair. Trying to form the most incredible team ever should be the goal. Not caring what crappy smurf on the internet thinks.

If they win 70 games a year and run through the playoffs every year for the next 5+ years, and end up with 5+ rings, they will be talked about as the greatest team ever. It wont be damaging for any of their legacies. It will only enhance them.

The NBA is ridiculous, how they can allow super powers is crazy, there should be one cap, solid!

The author of your post is who?

For the record, I don't begrudge the Warriors or Durant. They'd both be stupid to not pursue something like this. The problem I have is with Cuban and the ****ing Mavericks facilitating it.
Best post of this thread...couldn't agree more. I always thought Cuban was such a smart/saavy guy watching him on Shark Tank and all, but this mind-boggling move changes my opinion of him. The Mavericks are a dumpster fire, it's not like adding Bogut puts them over the top. He didn't have to make this move unless he's in cahoots with the Warriors.

This. A hundred times this. I mean, this isn't Kevin Garnett leaving a 32-50 Wolves team at the age of 31 to try and win a ring. Or a 32-year old Drexler asking to be traded from a 25-20 Blazers team to try and win a championship with Hakeem. This is a 27-year old superstar 2 years removed from winning the MVP leaving what is on the evidence of this year's playoffs the third best team in the league because they're not good enough. The third ****ing best team! This is WWE-level ridiculousness. This isn't "I want out because my team is bad." This is "I want out because my team is not the absolute best."

Remember, this team was 10 minutes from playing in the Finals, people.
Good post

Nah. I don't blame him for wanting out of a team with Russ who obviously shadows his leadership... But Warriors? !... they have beaten your ace remember?

And remember kids, if you ever use Jazzfanz App, use it safe.

3 of the best shooters in the history of the NBA are on the same team.
