The good news is that with 4 teams, there are a lot of variables. Adding in a quasi-retarded Melo at the helm and the chances this falls apart is... well... at least realistic.
 
Melo is not going to sign an extension to play for a pile of dump team like the Nets. This thread is irrelevant. Please go back to work or to taking naps.
 
And Locke just said that he's heard there are other pieces involved coming to the Jazz, so the salary savings could change.

Seems like a lot of stubborn people who will ask for too much.
 
Not sure if this would put us UNDER the luxury tax or not. If we're more than $9 mil over, this would save ownership double that in toal expenses. Knowing AK isn't near as productive as he once was and is always injury-prone, I can understand why the Miller's would love to do this trade. We are developing a glut at SF anyway and CJ seems now qualified to be the starter, so.... it does make some sense for us.
Diaw is more of a PF than AK, whick is where we're thin until Okur gets back and relieves Jefferson of some minutes at C so he can spend those minutes at PF. Bottom line is we'd be less dependent on Diaw when Okur gets back.

4 Team trade

Jazz get: Diaw & Quinton Ross
Nuggets get: Favors, AK, 2- 1st round draft picks
Bobcats get: Devin Harris & Jarvis Hayes
Nets get: Melo & DJ Augustine

All depends on Melo signing extension & Bobcats willing to let DJ Augustine go

All rumors right now but it is very serious. Something will get done before the weekend is over according to a lot of sources. Denver doesn't want Media day with Melo and that drama. And Nets know they won't get Melo next summer so they will offer him a deal now to get out of Denver.

It all works financially for every team except Denver. Denver needs to get rid of 4-6 Million in salaries to make it financially work. JR Smith or Chris Anderson to a certain team?

Jazz might get more pieces. Mainly a salary cap move.
 
1320 KFAN is so clearly a Miller enterprise. To listen to Locke defend keeping AK at every single turn as such an integral piece and blah blah blah then suddenly "over the past four years, AK hasn't been good, and to assume he will be is really the gamble." is just... really quite disgusting. I say this as a bit of a Locke apologist and supporter (relative to most of the people on this board).

I want to believe Locke isn't in the pocket of his bosses because I think (as pathetic as it is sometimes) he's the most knowledgable guy in the Utah media about the NBA and to think (or know) that he's just a shill at the end of the day bums me out.

Not that this is news. Locke was just DOGGING Hayward before the Jazz drafted him and the Millers then appointed Locke to write up the biggest puff piece on Hayward the player I've ever seen.

Update; Locke continues to talk out of two sides of his face. This guy waffles more than an opponent of the GOP (according to the GOP).
