Kanter will eat Koufas for breakfast.
maybe, but so far head to head Koufos was dominating him.

Yep. Every single young player has been absolutely ruined by Sloan.
Just think of how good Stockton and Malone could have been if not for Sloan.
No, not everybody. But Koufos is perfect example. He got minutes due to injuries and produced in his rookie year. Then second year he was given no opportunity to play at all and was sent to D-league few times. I would love to see how Kanter would progress if he plays 3-5 min a gam, or not playing at all for numerous games in a row. And you can't blame Koufos with nonsesne crap like " not in shape, not working on the game" - he was first to come, last to leave, true gym rat. All in all, Koufos is doing just fine now without Sloan pulling strings.
So was Araujo. Should he have gotten playing time? Koufos did absolutely nothing in Minnesota and very little after going to Denver. The reason he was benched in Year 2 is because he shot the ball every time he touched it and couldn't hit a thing. No, not everybody. But Koufos is perfect example. Kosta was better in junior level then Kanter ( just check his stats in U18 Eurochampionship - he dominated like no other big men, better stats then Kanter or JV). But spending two years in Sloan's doghouse and not playing any minutes did terrible thing to his developement and confidence. Glad he is finally getting chance to play.
Finally clicking or just better than the headcase named Javale Mcgee?
Kosta is a 2nd-tier center. He may have developed into a decent backup, but he's the weak link in a starting lineup. And if you think Jefferson is a black hole...Koufos has ONE assist in seven pre-season games. Jefferson has a career assist average of 1.4. Kosta's average is 0.3!
The U18 is a boys league where anyone who had an early growth spurt will put up big numbers. Koufas is nothing like Kanter. Kanter loves contact, Koufas loathes it. One is a recipe for success in the NBA, one is a recipe for disaster.
Here's a theory on why the Jazz named three players to be captains--it's because this way, when they trade either Millsap or Jefferson before the trade deadline, the OTHER one will still be around to be a captain. And won't feel slighted.
Discuss.
