What's new

Kosta Starting and Al/Paul/MoMo captains

Yep. Every single young player has been absolutely ruined by Sloan.

No, not everybody. But Koufos is perfect example. He got minutes due to injuries and produced in his rookie year. Then second year he was given no opportunity to play at all and was sent to D-league few times. I would love to see how Kanter would progress if he plays 3-5 min a gam, or not playing at all for numerous games in a row. And you can't blame Koufos with nonsesne crap like " not in shape, not working on the game" - he was first to come, last to leave, true gym rat. All in all, Koufos is doing just fine now without Sloan pulling strings.

Where's the blame toward Kurt Rambis and George Karl? Koufos played less than 9 mpg under them in 2010-11 until Karl saw the light last season.

So was Araujo. Should he have gotten playing time? Koufos did absolutely nothing in Minnesota and very little after going to Denver. The reason he was benched in Year 2 is because he shot the ball every time he touched it and couldn't hit a thing.

He was pretty "meh" for Denver last season/ My guess is he starts and plays 6-8 mins of the 1st/3rd and then McGee plays the remainder of each half. Koufos may end up in the 8/6 range.

The Jazz bungled Koufos pretty hard. Starting with benching him in favor of Jarron Collins suddenly, getting him buried on the bench, and not even having the decency to allow him to get on the floor for The Flash. Then traded him when I'm sure they didn't have to.

Koufos is not a world-beater, but he got a raw deal here. When everyone was dogging on him I've said he'll be in the NBA for a long time. We'll see how it plays out, but he's only gotten better every year.

Year 1. For Jarron. ****ing. Collins. And then gave him basically no more opportunities for the rest of the year. And basically no more opportunities for the next year either.

Kosta was better in junior level then Kanter ( just check his stats in U18 Eurochampionship - he dominated like no other big men, better stats then Kanter or JV). But spending two years in Sloan's doghouse and not playing any minutes did terrible thing to his developement and confidence. Glad he is finally getting chance to play.

The U18 is a boys league where anyone who had an early growth spurt will put up big numbers. Koufas is nothing like Kanter. Kanter loves contact, Koufas loathes it. One is a recipe for success in the NBA, one is a recipe for disaster.

Finally clicking or just better than the headcase named Javale Mcgee?

Kosta is a 2nd-tier center. He may have developed into a decent backup, but he's the weak link in a starting lineup. And if you think Jefferson is a black hole...Koufos has ONE assist in seven pre-season games. Jefferson has a career assist average of 1.4. Kosta's average is 0.3!

2nd-tier is being kind.

I'm a huge fan of Sloan, but there were definitely a few years where he had a harder time relating to players who didn't naturally exude qualities of a Spartan Warrior. kouf was neither predictable nor pure heart... that was strike three for Sloan.

Concerning team capatains, I'm not so concerned with having 3 of them, it's more about those three all being players with one year deals. Are they the future? Doubt it. Are they going to be back even next year? If they all are than I doubt we keep the new young players. I'm just saying that if Hayward, Burks, Favors and Kanter are the future, then make them captains, that's all.

Looking at the preseason stats, McGee had a mediocre preseason. KK or should I say BB doubled his rebounds/game, and McGee was atrocious from the line. McGee is not looking too promising based on preseason, hopefully the trend continues...

lol, yet when I was saying that Kanter was dominating in U18 because he was just bigger and stronger due to early maturity I was called racist. And Koufos is doing just fine when it comes to contact, not sure if you even see him play lately.

Here's a theory on why the Jazz named three players to be captains--it's because this way, when they trade either Millsap or Jefferson before the trade deadline, the OTHER one will still be around to be a captain. And won't feel slighted.

Discuss.

Genius.

Pleeeeeaaaase let this be.

i wouldnt mind millsap or mo to be team captains. as imho they play both sides of the floor.
but having a poplayer who only plays 1 side of the floor as captain now thats the problem how will he lead by example
