So now we have Hill and his 3.5 apg/34 mpg and he's going to be the starting PG.He complements well but he's not going to run the show for the Jazz.Give Exum 34 mpg and he's probably 8 apg plus !! Hill joins the rotation of Exum,Hood and Burks but the best chance the Jazz win big is with Exum running the show.

I think he starts to begin the season. Veteran presence while Dante shakes off the rust. Hill is more than capable of holding the job until Dante takes it away from him.

I don't think he will play major starter minutes over Exum man, he is aged, he will contribute a lot hopefully but I just don't see the organization waiting any longer to see Exum become the legit starter play maker they want him to be.

I fully expect Exum to be the starter by December. I trust Coach to figure out the rotation before and after that point.

If Hill starts the season, plays well and the team is good, he'll continue starting. Jazz want to win and if Hill starting leads to wins, no change will be made.

I think hill starts and, like sjf said, continues to start if the jazz are playing great with him starting (I think they will).

Hill is currently the better player &, in a vacuum, deserves to start but the team is obviously committed to Dante Exum as it's PG. Not only does starting Exum further create continuity with Hood, Hayward, Favors, & Gobert (which is clearly the future starting lineup as of right now), Hill is a much better fit with the 2nd unit as he is more effective playing off of the ball with Burks handling the majority of the playmaking duties. Regardless of who the starter ends up being, both will play important (& likely equal) roles on this team.

Exum has missed two of the last three years of playing basketball. Hill will start and they will bring along Exum slowly. This is why they got Hill. It wasn't to have him play 15 minutes a game.

Hill just got off a season playing 34mpg. The Jazz gave up a 12th round pick for him, I'm assuming that means they want to keep him around longer than 1 year.

If the Jazz want to re-sign Hill at the end of the year, I think he needs at least 25+ minutes and will most likely have to start at the beginning of the year.

Hill will start. Obviously. He'll also play a few minutes at the 2.

I would bet that Hill starts. Exum will get plenty of playing time with Hill and him on the floor at the same time. I think Hill will be a great mentor for Exum and it will make exum much better in 2 to 3 years.

I also wouldnt be suprised that Hill will start all year.

As for those that were complaining about his numbers last year pull your head out of your butts and look at what he did the previous year. That is what he is capable of when he is the ball handler. The pacers brought in ellis and we all know he is a ball hog the oppotunities were not there for him. Besides our wings handle the ball more any way and the offense runs through them.

My question is, who will finish games. I think Hill will finish a lot until we can trust Exum there. Perhaps both will finish games because we can now go small ball. Exum, Hill, Hood, Hayward, Favors anyone? How about Hill, Alec, Hood, Hayward, Favors to close out with Small ball. 4 x 3 point threats with Favors down low.

Alec and Exum have been injured too long and I think they both have more competition for minutes which is a good thing.

Wouldn't be surprised to see us finish with this lineup:

Hill/Exum/Hood/Hayward/Favors

That's what's so nice about our roster makeup, is that we can adapt.

Playing a big lineup (Thunder):

Hill or Exum/Hood/Hayward/Favors/Gobert

Playing small:

Hill/Exum/Hood/Hayward/Favors or Gobert, depending on matchup.

We can run (if Snyder lets us), play slow, play big, play small.

I don't think Hill will start but will more than likely get the majority of the minutes. Exum will be given a soft landing as per Mr. Locke. It makes sense, especially since the kid has been out the game for so long. We all know that NBA game type situations and physicality are impossible to match in full contact scrimmages.

No way Exum starts. He was just cleared for contact. It will take at least 6 month before he has no psychologic and physical limitations due to his knee. So if he starts it will be around All star break.

Hill should start but It's Exum's job to take over. He should play like it.

If Hill starts the season, plays well and the team is good, he'll continue starting. Jazz want to win and if Hill starting leads to wins, no change will be made.

This.

Jazz need to win now and whichever starters give them the best chance to do that they will go with. Exum doesn't HAVE to start to develop with this team. He can come off the bench and still get a ton of minutes. People need to remember how many god damn minutes Burke, Neto, Mack, Johnson, and Joe got last season. We are replacing those minutes with Exum, Alec and Hill. There is enough minutes to go around.
