I don't want to judge Exum by last night alone, because other than Jingles, who's dangling bowling balls, and Gobert, who comes to play every night, everyone played like frightened #$ssies last night, especially Gordon. But dang, Exum looked so so bad. I know he missed a year, but the turnovers and the absence of the stones needed to actually go to the hole makes me think, more and more. . . bust.

Just type the word *******, minus all the symbols. Otherwise, you'll get a warning or infraction for circumventing the profanity filter.
That said, Exum is the biggest ***** on the team. By far. Couple that with the fact that he's not skilled and the dude is a waste.

That is why I think Gobert needs to be the leader of this team, not Hayward. The team takes on the personality of their leader, and in the case of last night, that personality was to curl up in the fetal position. Yeah Exum really sucked last night, but that was the least of my worries since he's not a major contributor anyway.

A kid that young playing against the likes of Benedict Durrant, Thompson and Curry is bound to be a little timid. It's more the rest of the team that worries me. I do think (hope) they will bounce back and learn from this.

I know, but I just keep waiting for him to build on the flashes i've seen. . .not happening. But Gordon, talk about wilting under the lights. He can be really really good, and then sometimes he quick-grows ovaries. Great players have bad nights, yeah, but great players don't lose their fire. Maybe "good" is his ceiling. And maybe diarrhea is Exum's ceiling. . .

Legit concern. We saw it during the four game streak where Hayward sucked. I get that the shots aren't always going to fall but Hayward needs to keep attacking. Draw a foul or something.

Jazz just bought the Exum hype in 2014. Magic knew better and skipped on Exum as they knew Payton will be available and saw that he will be better player. LaVine as well was underrated by many before draft and now look how much better he is than Exum that it is not even funny. But draft is never a clear science unfortunately.. especially with internationals. For one Porzingis or Jokic there is quite a few tzikitishvilis, korolevs, vesely's, milicics and exums.

Exum will be starting for the Jazz in 2-3 years and will be playing well above average for his position in the league.

He has all the physical tools, all the intelligence and all the hard work to be a really good player. He is a slow developer and taking 2 years off from Basketball and his injury slowed him down a bit.

Sometimes I feel the same way and sometimes I think he's never going to excel... his nickname should be The Enigma.

If the game slows down for him, like it tends to finally do for most young guys. And with his speed he should be pretty good. But like you I do fear he's a bust. But I am more patient than most here. I don't need him to blow up right now. If he does than great! If He doesn't I wait a couple more years before calling him a bust. But that's just how kick *** I am. :)

nah diarrhea is what is coming out of Rodney Hood's rear end and your mouth

Yeah, judging Exum for being intimidated in a game where most seasoned vets are intimidated is pretty dumb.

The thing I find funny is that people seem to expect Exum to turn into some great player overnight. It's not going to happen like that. It will likely take another 2 years, so people should stop expecting it to happen suddenly. The position Utah is in, they don't really have the minutes to get him a lot of playing time, and they also have some incentive for not going out of their way to get him a lot of minutes, in that it would be better if he's underwhelming for one more year, so that Utah can sign him to a reasonable contract.

Anyway, Utah is playing the long game with Exum and his development, so fans might wanna temper their expectations a bit. The biggest thing to take away from this season is that Exum has shown an ability to get to the rim that isn't easy to come by, and he's also shown that he is capable of being aggressive at times.

There was a moment against OKC when Westbrook scored on Exum, and the next play Exum came down and went right back at him and returned the Favor. It's going to take time, but we've seen flashes of what he is capable of, and that's the best we can hope for this year and maybe next year as well, considering the position Utah is in.

He spent the first part of the season doing exactly what people wanted him to, taking it to the rim and being aggressive. He showed the right attitude and was markedly better on offense than his rookie year (also playing out of position) His release looks better, he got to the free throw line and didn't play "scared" Then the team decided that winning is the 100% priority and he's now on a remarkably short leash and looks confused a lot because he's trying to fit in and not make mistakes .. there's nothing earth shattering about what is going on. He's still displayed speed & vision which will make him a really good player eventually but at the moment there's a lot he's trying to digest. Quin has very clearly said that he's trying to set him up for being long term success

chillax.

Exum is garbage.

#1. Exum has a terrible looking shot, and that shot rarely goes in. That is a giant red flag for a guard. He has had a lot of time to work on that. Why is that still a problem? I would be fine with the look of it if it were dropping, but it isnt. So the looks just confirms he has a major problem there.

#2. Exum has terrible handles. He dribbles scared, and has about 1 or 2 moves. Again, a huge red flag for a guard. He doesnt even dribble well for a big. Wtf has he been working on?

#3. Most importantly, the dude is just flat out scared to do anything. Another Giant red flag for any potential NBA player.

#4. He is not as athletic as he was advertised. Not even close. If you think so, wtf are you looking at? He isnt fast and doesnt jump high.

So what are the positives? He has an NBA body, sort of. He is long I guess. And he plays ok defense.

So do the positives really outway the negatives? Hell no they don't.

Oh yeah. Dont forget #5. He is mouth breathing dumb *** looking dude who has weird body language. Another huge red flag. He isnt even aware of his existence. Meaning he has a low IQ probabaly.

Should have traded him a long time ago. But thats the Jazz for you. No idea how to manage their assets.

The most anyone can hope for with Exum is that he can become a viable backup. There is no chance in hell he ever becomes a star in this league. The dude is a bust for where is was picked.

I mildly disagree on this one. I think his shooting stroke looks good and I recall Ron Boone saying the same thing. Exum often doesn't get on balance and his feet completely under him before he shoots. And the results haven't been great. However, his 83% FT shooting this year is a sign that his shooting will come around with more work.

Dante does dribble scared. It is also true that Dante has an excellent first step.

I think some of this is on Dante and some of it is on the coaching staff. If he is your potential star player, then you need to find circumstances for him to succeed. And I am okay if that is in the D league for a while.

Did anyone ever advertise Exum as the Australian Westbrooke? Exum is a little slower than his rookie year. Probably because he tore his ACL. That said he still has plenty of speed to be an good NBA player. His speed with the ball isn't great but I still have some hope of that improving. He isn't vertical explosive and probably never will be. But he does have a great first step. I also think his in game speed and quickness is limited by his below average strength.

I think it's more that some people expect exum not to be horrible.
Expect him to be great? Lol, I would just expect him to be better than mack or at the very least better than neto.
