Lyles ceiling

Does leeway to play through mistakes on a bad team with no pressure of losing minutes or pressure of winning games inflate numbers? Is the gap between Lyles/Booker inflated to appear more than the actual gap between Lyles/Booker because of their respective situations. Those are the questions I asked and Cappy Smurf deflected by bringing up **** I didnt even say and basically avoiding facts.

I would say that it doesn't neccessarily "inflate" numbers, but I wouild definitely agree that a player playing on a bad team with a bad system, VS. a good team with a good system would definitely have a weight on a players stats. Some teams, and systems are known to bring the best out of mediocre players. Like the Spurs.
However in the case of Lyles, and booker, I think it's safe to say that the math doesn't lie. Booker is averaging
35 MPG, 21.6 PPG, while shooting 42% from the field and 36% from 3 point range.
Lyles is averaging 17 minutes and 6 PPG, 3 Reb and 1 assist on 36/32% shooting. Whats worse is those stats are almost identicle to his rookie year numbers, meaning, he hasn't improved, at all. When he is called upon, he hasn't gone out and taken it.

If we wanted to tank we'd get lyles 40 shots. Booker is inefficient & overrated. Not as bad as lyles mind you.

Booker also has a PER of below 14, which is below average.

So the math says he is below average. Is the math still telling the truth?

Sure it exaggerates the gap. The gap is still there though and it's huge. Lyles is airballing open 10 footers bro. He went many games in a row without making a shot. Dude ****ing blows right now. No way around that.

We would get lyles 40 shots and he would make like 8 of them and score 18 points lol.

Ive never seen so many people get a boner over a dude with a 14 PER.
Ya you have. It happened just now.
You will probably have to get over it somehow.

And ain't just jazz fans gushing about him.

I like him a lot too. I just wouldnt suggest trading Rudy Gobert for him. You are going off the deep end and it's embarrassing.

Funny thing was Booker looked just god awful leading up to that game. But watching highlights from the kid in that 70 pt game you can see the offensive potential, he just needs experience to be more consistent. Defensively like Lyles he'll be question mark and his PPG this year is a bit misleading because he's playing on a Phoenix team that is all happy to pose for picures after taking L's. But....he looks like he'll be a fine offensive player in a couple years(he's only 20!). So yes, I'd take him over Lyles in a goddamn heartbeat.
