Mark Jackson Named Warriors Head Coach

Yeah, I can't stand him as an announcer. He was one of my favorite PGs though. I love a distributor.

Didn't GS have a new coach last year? And they still finished 11th. No reason for despair.

Guess Locke isn't very high on him as a coach either.
 
The Warriors always pick the wrong guy for the job. They picked the last guy on the ABC/ESPN broadcasting crew that I would want as my head coach. That includes Michael Wilbon and company. Even "Lazy Eye" Stuart Scott would be a better choice IMO.
 
I refuse to believe this until I see a thread stating that the warriors are no longer interested in Sloan.

Sure bag on the guy with cancer and a lazy eye that was a result of getting hit the eye with a football.
 
A bad news/good news deal. The bad news is the Jazz might not get G.S's pick next year. The good news is the NBA on ABC just became much more tolerable.

He should learn how to catch a football if this is true. As far as cancer goes, what does that have to do with me endorsing the guy over Mark Jackson?

Seriously, if this guy is off the air, it's a win in my book.
 
Let me get this right, GS fires Smart because they want a coach with experience and then they hire a guy who has zero experience. Sometimes I think the world has gone mad. I think there is a good possibility that GS gets to keep their pick.
 
Even an idiot could coach Golden State out of the bottom 7. Jackson qualifies, but he won't coach them out of the lottery so I think he's perfect.
 
I see a power struggle in GS future. They will trade the shoot first Monta before the season starts, then Jackson will try to convince the team that he is a better point gaurd than Curry. Eventually half the team will side with him and he will plead his case to the national media.....wait a minute, I'm getting confused. Mark who?

This. They still have Monta, Curry, Lee, and the rest. They always gave the Jazz trouble last year. They'll be good, but not better than L.A., Dallas, OKC, Memphis, Portland, San Antonio, Denver, ...New Orleans?
They look like they'll fall right into the 9th spot.
 
I'll take good offense over good defense any day of the week. -Mark Jackson during every game he broadcasts.

On second thought - I doubt Golden State will notice they no longer have Nellie or Smart coaching them.
