That's is what I am saying.
Where are you getting that I'm saying something else?
I'm wondering how one comes to that conclusion.

When you told your last boss you wanted to leave, did he offer to wipe your *** after using the bathroom or did he just say, "see ya later." It was NOT Utah's choice to let Kanter leave. They were perfectly willing to play him 25-30 mins, have him test free agency and then match an offer (or not, depending on what they valued him at). They did the same with Gordon. Unlike Enes, Hayward went out, got his offer, and returned to the team when they matched, He didn't demand a trade, didn't bitch and complain, In fact, based on his physique and improvements to his game, he worked harder than he ever had in the off-season. It was Kanter's and Ergul's choice to demand the trade and make some pretty wild claims (best of his generation). That kind of attitude and absurdity killed his trade value.
I wouldn't max Matthews, and I don't think the Jazz would either.
I'd draft Hezonja and see where Burks and Hood are at in their development. Exum and Hezonja have good length and athleticism on the perimeter, and I think both will shoot a good percentage from 3-pt range. Favors and Gobert defend the paint pretty well. Hayward glues it all together.
8-10 mil max. No way Matthews is a Max player. He is in ballpark of Aaron Afflalos upcoming deal. Good news is Portland will not likely be able to keep both. Maybe Paul Allen will spend though?

The NBA apparently had pitched two versions of a proposal to "smooth" that infusion of money into the system to avoid artificially bidding up salaries of the players who happened to hit the market that summer, at the expense of the majority who would remain under contract. By "smoothing" the increase -- with the cap rising by lesser amounts, with the difference from the players' CBA-guaranteed share of the league's revenues divvied up proportionally among them all -- those locked into contracts would benefit from the added cash.
So you sit disgruntled in your cubicle bitching about the company, your role, the disrespect they're showing you. But the company keeps you there - just to teach you a lesson? This is silly. Who cares what Kanter and his agent said? We set a precedent where we show everyone that they don't wear the pants. We're not taking less value back for you just because you want to be a whiny bitch. Be a whiny bitch all you want, but by damn you're still our bitch and you don't move until we say so, so STFU.

8-10 million a joke for Matthews though. He is worth at least 12 easy.
Because it would seem to me that the wealth would get spread around more to all of the players, rather just the free agent class in 2016.
Here is a quote from a story about it
They are denying anyone any money. They are just spreading it around.
They'll eventually agree to it when the rest of the players realize that they are gonna be left out.
Lebron is leading that thing, and when can his contract expire? Exactly
Why?

Should we do it?

What else are we going to spend our money on?
Does it affect our ability to keep any of our core?
I'm not going to go through the thread, but has anyone explained why they think the Spurs will match Leonard? They're losing their stars, and pop is likely gone. It would make sense that they'll go full rebuild. If that is the case, would Leonard be interested in joining the Jazz? Or is he more likely to go to a contender?
