MEDIA DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's got to be a little weird for a guy like Chris Johnson to do a media day interview. He has virtually zero chance of making the team this year. Hopefully he has improved enough for another team to show him some interest, though.

that was awkward as ...

Does anyone else feel like this was just super underwhelming for some reason? Seems like there wasn't really much to talk about. Even just the media day thread from last year is like 5 times bigger than this one.

May be the team's taking the "A little less conversation, a little more action" attitude this year?

I get the sense that anything less than a deep-ish playoff run would be a disappointment this year.

Yeah, somewhat. It's weird because we have more to be excited about this year with Hill, Diaw, Johnson, and Exum but at the same time maybe a quieter media day. But at least preseason will start soon and we'll start to see the product on the court.

Oops. Anyway not sure what i was expecting but his voice or his chill attitude or something was not quite what i thought.

Damn... Gordo's arms are as big as Favs with more definition!

Thanks. Was kinda waiting for the jazz pre-season games to begin but media day is a fresh start to the season so I couldn't wait any longer. Plus i had to comment on that picture of Hayward. Dude looks huge.

I'm REALLY looking forward to the tidbits that come out of training camp. 6 days till preseason! Only 6 games this year (usually 8 right) and 4 are on Root Sorts!

So this pretty much confirms that Hayward is going to be a SF almost exclusively, no? Are there any SGs in the league that jacked? If he has kept his speed and versatility, Hayward is going to be a missmatch for whatever defender they want to put on him.

Locked on Jazz notes from todays podcast:

Exum is very "giddy" and ready to play.

Diaw, Hill and Johnson are all very team focused. Mentions that Hill and Exum were on the podium together and got asked "who starts?" Hill responded with something along the lines of: If we are winning who cares. They are saying all the right things.

Burks is not 100% but is "very close". Feels more explosive, talk of spreading the floor. Very excited with what he has been working on.

J. Johnson fully admits that he may not be a starter, mellow and seems to be fully ready to accept any role he gets. He is being lauded for his preparation and dedication.

Talks about watching the growth and maturation of players like Favors and Hayward.

Calls Hayward's daily routine to get ready for the season "insane".

C. Johnson will have a very hard time making this team.

Mentions how our starting PGs (Mack and Neto) are now 3rd and 4th string and how big that is to depth.

Snyder mentioned (yesterday) there will be lots of scrimmages so the team learn how to play with each other.

Hood emphasized his need to get to the FT to improve his game.

Bunch of anthem protest stuff.

Really excited to see how Hayward takes the lead. Neither him or Favors have ever been top dog leader material imo.
They are just so mellow. Good players, not flat out alpha studs....yet.

I've called out Gordon, and stated that he will never be the #1 option on a championship team. I still stand by that statement.
I would love for him to make me eat crow. I do think he's put in the work to be an all star this year, and have a big year.
Will he be the clear leader of this team, and lead them to the a deep run in the playoffs? I sure hope so.

Damn, we are going to crush this year.

Could Hayward be too big?
