MEDIA DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

09/28/16 Locked On Jazz Podcast notes:

- All the Jazz media day interviews are up

- Yesterday had 2 practices, morning was more open scrimmage, afternoon was more scripted with set plays

- Lots of offensive work with the bigs, mentions Favors/Diaw pairings and Gobert/Lyles once subs start rotating in

- Dante looked really good, he's ready. Getting wherever he wants on the floor, needs a little finishing work once he gets to the basket, better handle, speed/burst/quickness are still there. "super exciting to see"

- Hill ran the team immediately from the start of open scrimmage, controlled the game

- Lots of focus on defensive rebounding late in game

- Huge emphasis on early front side action, early pick and roll

- Talk about how the 3 point shooting should dramatically improve with the addition of Hill, Diaw and Johnson and who they replaced

- Mentions of how "huge, huge, huge" Gordon Hayward is. Strong

- Burks is very active, just no contact. Locke thinks this is a non story since Burks is involved in everything actively except actual contact

Hayward hasn't gotten the respect he's deserved in this league from fans or other players really, but now that he's a WWF character I bet he gets a lot more.

Training Camp Day 2 notes!!!

Via Twitter

Tony Jones: Quin Snyder said much of this first week will be focused on trying to instill defensive principles

Tony Jones: The knee is what is bothering Alec Burks, Quin Snyder said. Even so, he's close to a return to health.

David Locke: Quin Snyder "thing that gets lost with Joe Johnson is he can play lots of ways"

David Locke: Quin Snyder "Derrick Favors has been terrific."

Ben Dowsett: Early Jazz camp impression, also based on media day stuff: Joe Johnson might play even more than we assumed, esp. early. Clear Quin is a fan

David Locke: Joe Johnson "we have a lot of guys that are quiet and reserved was are trying to bring them out"

Tony Jones: Joe Johnson said he knows he probably wont be a starter. Said he's fine with it.

To the playoffs or the ditch! Either way its peddle to the meddle!!

That's the one.
I know that it's kind of lame to have it too early in the season but I like how you would post games of teams we were fighting with and who we should be rooting for.

I think to open the season im going to root for whoever is playing against the clippers, grizzlies, and blazers the most.

I think the #1 seed is a lock for the warriors barring any major injuries to their stars. I think the #2 seed will go to the spurs cause I think they are kind of like the patriots: doesn't matter who is on the court as long as pop is ruining things they will be good.

I think we fight for the 3, 4, 5, or 6 seed and believe that the clippers, grizz, and blazers are our biggest competition.

Don't forget that we have the warriors 1st round pick next year. Personally, I think it's really classless to root for players to get injured, so I'm gonna feel just awful about hoping the team bus crashes and KD/Curry/Klay/Green all break both their legs.

Edit: For those oversensitive types, I'm totally kidding. One leg each should suffice.

Fixed that for us.

Actually, just losing KD for an extended period would make them a different team. They jettisoned quite a bit to sign KD.

"peddle to the meddle"

Nearly positive it's "pedal to the metal".

What you are saying is like "Be a door to door salesman where you are not wanted!!"
