Millsap or Jefferson?

Who would you choose to Resign if you were KOC?

Yes, he sucks on defense, but Big Al is vastly underrated on this board. The biggest reason I voted for Millsap is that he fits better with Kanter and Favors, and doesn't destroy chemistry like Big Al does down in that Big hole of his.

Evans better than Al? The Jazz may not sign him this offseason, but whoever does will be paying him at least 10 mil, more likely 15-16 mil per year. He is a talented player, he just isn't good for the current Jazz team because of our young core.

he is a talented alsketballplayer.
sure teams will sign him.
only place i think al will be a net positive to a team is in san antonio.

al is not a team player. basketball unlike alsketball is a team sport

I think Jefferson has the best character on the current Jazz team even if I don't like his game.

Kanter and Favors are the future and have to start.

Neither do I want to overpay Millsap nor Jefferson.

So my answer is: none of them.

Get a young PF via draft or trade and sign a veteran. Get them both around 15 minutes per game and give Favors and Kanter big minutes.

You guys are nuts if you think we could re-sign Millsap and not have him start. If you want a starting lineup that consists of Favors and Kanter, then Al and Sap BOTH have to go.

I think they mean that the answer is so obvious (millsap at 9 per) that the thread should be closed ( / )

I disagree. First of all, if he wanted to be paid less than 10 per than he would have accepted the three year extension that they offered him in the offseason which tells me that he not only wants to start, but he wants to get paid like a starter which the team definitely can't afford and stay under the cap AND be competitive. I voted Al, although after what Kanter did in the last game i'm not so sure about that. If Kanter keeps up what he's doing and if Favors decides to learn some footwork than I say both Al and Sap go and we bring in journeymen to back them up.
Favors and Kanter can both play the 5 so Al is not needed. Al is a nice guy and a good teammate, but I just hate how the offense stops when he's in the game. Kanter has been quicker to pass out of the post when he sets up.

That said, I'm not sure Millsap is the answer, either...unless he settles for less than market value and wants to come off the bench. Favors gets in a lot of foul trouble, so there IS room for Paul, who would still get 30+ mins. But Millsap is going to be too expensive. Jazz need to find a decent 3rd big in the MLE salary range on a 2-year contract. Then, draft a young big to assume the 4th spot, moving into the rotation in a couple of years.

If Evans can continue to hit that 15 foot jumper he could be a good 4th big. he is deceptively long and recovers will becasue of his length-- his ability to block shots is quite impressive and he would be pretty good in the open court

By "big" I mean a guy that can play the 4 or 5. Jazz will need a third guy to play 30-35 mins. in the rotation with Favors and Kanter. Yes, I think Evans could fill Kanter's current spot (10 mins here and there), but I'd hate for him to be the 3rd big if anyone got hurt. IMO, the Jazz, if they don't re-sign Al or Paul, need to pick up a couple of guys that are legit PF/C's.

the thing is lets say millsap and jefferson walks.
jazz will sign another big for sure.
he will have seniority over kanter and favors so by definition he will start.
so would you like a guy like landry to start alongside favors or kanter?
elton brand?
chris kaman?
dejuan blair?

https://www.hoopsworld.com/2013-nba-free-agents/ look at the free agents.

millsap kanter favors rotation. is the best realistic option.

if not we get a kwame brown starting alongside favors or kanter.
so millsap anytime of the day

Sure I voted Al, you know, our top scorer and the only player on the team that can be looked to for a basket at the end of the game.

You know? Him?

I know he has defensive limitations, he isn't ... (um, what center is better in the NBA right now? Howard doesn't have much of an offensive game and the rest are stretch fours) Anyway, if he was a complete player than he would be getting max money. If he gives a home town discount like Memo did than hey, why not?

Same guy that also creates the worst defense in the league, yea, that guy.

Elton Brand on the cheap for two years as our third big, and bring Tomic over as our 4th. 34 for Favors and Kanter, 18 for Brand, and 10 for Tomic. Or something like that.

problem is if we have elton brand
and coach crobain.
elton will be the first big, getting the most minutes.
so yeah than i'd rather have SAP
